Lets be real here.

First of all, what is a blob?
I think we can agree it means a large amount of units in one concentrated place.

Second, why is that a bad thing?
Well, it isnt.

A blob becomes a problem if one or both of the following is true:
-Your build cannot handle blobs
-You havent pulled your units together to counter their blob.

In both cases, its a matter of player error in judgement.

Yeah there are actually 18 different cover types, but there are a lot with no actual differences.

Yep, thanks for stats. I was figuring about 12.

I figure those can all be adjusted relatively easy, and since we dont have target tables and infantry armor was removed, is perhaps an area of the game, in relation to certain weapons, that is still open for some marginal style fine tuning of balance and also differentiation, for infantry based units, even Support Weapons/Field artillery.

Reading this thread and the posts in it, I have 4 observations to make:

1) Play more factions. Try them. Its alright to have a favorite, but play another one every 4th game or so. The stats are logged separately, so you dont "lose" anything even though younlose with a facrion you are less experienced with. Its somewhat disturbing to see posters with an almost 100% faction preference on their card (or their opinion). Try the others from time to time. Its pretty important actually, for perspective. You will be surprised at the results, and better informed.

2) We dont know overall faction preference. Relic hasnt released them, and Steam seemingly doesnt provide a metric for good comparison. The matchmaking % is not a valid indicator, for many many reasons. I understand why people think that, but just think about it objectively, and realise it really isnt.

3) The game is very different between 1v1 <---> 4v4. There are a lot of misunderstandings here between people who are inadvertently talking about different game modes with another poster. It would help a lot if people specifically mention what game mode they are referring to, because really, there is a huge difference, and otherwise you just get aggravated, understandly, by someone elses view, not because he is "wrong", but because it is a different game mode he is talking about.

4) A generalised thread like this is too much for us to handle, collectively. So many benign and unintentional misunderstandings between us because the topic is so broad. I recommend to try and keep it as specific as you can. Helps others understand what you mean, and leads to less misunderstandings that take many many posts to straighten out, if ever.

I dont see how making T34/85 callin cheaper than it is now, after tier expense, would be a good thing.

It just makes tier units even less cost efficient than they are now, in comparison.
Same applies by that logic to all factions, tiers and callins.

Just makes the current tier unit vs callin cost inefficiency even more pronounced, than it already is.
In other words, makes the problem worse.

Also, it doesnt work for Ost in particular, which has a forced Battlephase upgrade cost, and leaves them extremely vulnerable between T1 or T2---T4 where you have to pay roughly half the difference anyways, with no actual benefit for skipping T3 (where the core armor resides).

Just doesnt work, man.

Would be abslutely stellar for Sov as a buff, but for every other faction it would be an enornous nerf.
You need to consider the fairness and position of other factions too, not just "what I want for my faction".
