Conscripts need a buff. That's fine.
You can buff the Maxim like that once you decrease it's squad size and increase its reinforce cost. Adding those changes you mentioned would be ridiculous. Maxims are currently just annoying AF, not really OP.
Penals are in an odd spot right now. I feel like satchels provide a surprising amount of utility by being able to destroy pretty much any building. They're good against engine hampered vehicles and noobs that can't micro either!
Soviet snipers shouldn't have 2 men and have sprint, it's just silly, but you can't buff them to the level of the Ost sniper because that would also be too much to handle for squads with 4 men. It's a sticky issue.
But the 2 most broken Sov units are Shocks and the ISU. Shocks are just too tough, and can run through fire even without smoke and shred squads.
ISU is just laughably broken though. Too tough + amazing vs. infantry and taks. All it lacks is speed and a turret. The thing even sights for itself. Jagdtiger is broken too but at least it can't sight for itself. IMO these long ranged vehicles just don't deserve a spot in this game at all. |
Assault Grens are great for hiding behind brush and ambushing, and protecting flanks. They're really too squishy to actually assault like Shocks do, but that's more of an issue of Shocks overperforming, especially since the LMG nerf and the increasing of the effectiveness of close range troops.
Like the 222, the Assault Group isn't that effective anymore vs. US since they got homing AT nades, but can still wreck havoc on certain units that don't have a snare, and is great for chasing down retreating squads.
Stug III E is amazing and IMO overperforming, but it also sucks against vehicles heavier than a T70/Stuart (can suck vs. these too if it's unsupported) so I suppose it's a tradeoff. This vehicle is what makes this doctrine viable at all, particularly vs. US.
Light artillery barage is pretty meh. I would rather it be more expensive in exchange for more lethality. Not that it's terrible, I mean, it fires a lot of shells, but the shells themselves have terrible AoE and pretty much have to have direct hits to kill anything.
And like everyone else has said, Tiger is Tiger. |
Please create a balance server for testing strategies. Please.
Ever since I saw Relic employees streaming themselves playing automatch and DoW on the clock at the offices, I have had less than rosy opinions on how, at the very least, those that balance this game treat the game and community.
Not just from the fact that they were doing it, but also how they were doing it. This is just the instance where people just got fed up enough. This isn't a first occasion.
Its one of the reasons I haven't bought a bit of content for CoH2 since Code Blue.
I agree with you that the streaming is a bit much, unless it's of new content or discussions about balance, etc.
However, I think that playing on automatch is actually one of the best ways to test how units are performing. Have you ever heard someone say that if you're having trouble against a certain build/strategy, you should switch to that faction, copy that BO/strat and see how people counter it? They can only get so much stimuli on a test server. The reason Brad went kubel spam/rush (I would assume) was to see how people counter it, if it's reasonably countered at all. If it's too hard to beat -> nerf bat comes a'swingin'. |
Yesssss, with every game we load we give homage to the great RNGJesus. All but Wewe are blessed with his grace. Except for this game.
Literally lolling at the part about Wewe |
IMO adding homing to the USF AT nade really hurt the usefulness of the Ost scout car against them, like really hurt it. Not to mention that a 6 minute HT or slightly later Stuart basically take a dump on this unit. There's not much of a point to it because it just delays the time to Tiger and is cannon fodder to most USF vehicles that will be on the field.
Used to, you could harass with 222 (run it up at point blank) and inflict some heavy MP drain on rifles while HT was somewhere else on the map. Its effectiveness has dropped a lot since then. |
Everyone rages every once and a while |
Thunderrage MVGame |
Somewhere, somehow, the AI was programmed to on occasion reload the Sturmtiger when surrounded by enemies and *literally* give it to the other team. Having an AI on your team in a 2v2 after someone drops is bad enough, but this is ridiculous.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can upload a replay in a little bit if anyone wants to see it. |
This was a crazy game, 7 Tigers, 2 KTs, 6 or so IS-2s. It was a bit sloppy, but nonetheless a fun one to play and even better to win. |
How much skill does a jagdtiger take to use?
Turn on AT mode and let it 2 shot tanks through terrain
You have to save up 280 or so FU as OKW and also have to have LoS since Jagd doesn't have self forward sighting. P-47 is an instant, no micro, self sighting strike that is essentially a "delete heavy" button. |
