Received Accuracy is currently what i think is the biggest balance issue in the game.
The current patch (aside from some silly things like the USF mortar) is actually pretty good in terms of balance.
However the late game transition is slightly more painful for axis if they haven't been able to score early squad wipes.
The veterancy bonuses for particularly the US and UK infantry squads gives them a received accuracy reduction (of i think up to 50% in vet 3 USF infantry).
This... is just stupid. The experience of a solider does not allow him to dodge bullets or give him a temporal time shifting pack with which to avoid them.
The fact that a blob of vet 3 rifle squads can stand in a road, and take the same damage as a squad in cover, is just daft and encourages blobbing and skilless play. It also makes things harder for the axis since none of their infantry get such a significant received accuracy (except i think obers, but its still smaller than the rifle infantry get in USF).
Veterancy should make infantry better at shooting (which it also does) and maybe better when fighting in cover... NOT able to go all matrix in the middle of a road while beating enemy units in cover.
Id like received accuracy to be removed from all units and every man should be as hard to hit as the other with the exception of those suffering from dwarfism and for infantry to have different health and armor values to respect their cost/roll. Because received accuracy is just ruining this for me... |

Before I get this bumplocked by a mod I will say this:
Yes I know you could use IL-2 strikes, ToT artillery, satchel charges etc
My concern is that the ability of pak 43 being able to fire from behind buildings does not fit any coherence of logic. The 18-pounder cannot do this. Also it being behind buildings covers it from artillery, which should be its counter. The 18-pdr can brace, but is susceptible to artillery nonetheless.
Why is it my critique and re-review of a game mechanism got my previous thread bumplocked with the smug tagline of ''working as intended''. IS this such a sacred cow that discussion is forbidden?
Pak 43 is the most useless and dead thing in the game....
Every faction has multiple ways of taking it out... the Pak 43 gets maybe 1 or 2 shots, (the surprise shots when the enemy doesn't know its built). After that its dead, so if in them 2 shots it doesn't score a kill its a waste of resources.
Id rather the pak 43 be buffed to be similar to the UK AT emplacement with the brace ability. (obviously with a fuel cost added too). |
I had a game earlier and i found an awesome solution!
I captured the USF mortar and used it against him haha. It ended on 54 kills >.>

Well yeah but was sorta hoping we'd grown outa that as a community.
Or at least that relic would play fucking ranked, rather than just streaming random shitty mods every month...

With my usual 2v2 partner (who i was in top 100 with multiple factions in AT 2v2)...
Axis.... 1 win 9 losses (all of these games we had a positive KDR, and the 1 win they had a DC).
Allies... 8 win 2 Losses (All of these games we had a neg KDR.... but still won while half drunk lol).
I see the balance hasnt changed in the slightest.
Blob + Arti = Win as per fkin usual just like Coh1. See you guys in another 6 months.
(1v1 isn't bad actually), but omfg the meta is pretty much "heres the allies ability, Axis.... deal with it if u can?".

Imo they should swap the P4 with the Ostwind in the scavenge doctrine. (And increase the CP cost). |
So 1v1 seems fine, 2v2 and upward are totally broken. The luchs comes even quicker, if you have double OKW they will both get it, allowing them to get both fuels aaaaanddddd GG.
Problems (from a 2v2 perspective, will get worse with 3v3 and 4v4)
- Double Luchs
In 2v2s, these units come at 6 ish minute. They need only one fuel point to get their 6 minute luchs, if they both go for it, they can get both fuels without effort, since their vehicles come quicker than soviet t70 and about the same time as Stuart, yet they can have a shreck out that can deter both allied vehicles once they hit the field. This means double shreck supporting double luchs.
- Double schwere
Once they have both fuels secured and both of them have luchs and volks are piling up in blobs, they both put down their schwere HQ. They can secure teritory, support it with LeIGs and their shrek blobs which are backed up by the luchs. This is pretty much uncounterable.
- Double shreck blobs
They both will go for double shreck blobs, because it is the easiest and best way to support their early aggression and domination, leaving you with no strategic option to counter their luchs play, since you will get confronted by shrecks, which counter your vehicles and luchs will counter your infantry together with the volks blob.
- Double obers
And after both fuels are secured, luchs has dominated, shreck blobs have deterred early vehicle play, you will start to see obers followed up by either double P4 or one P4 and one Panther. Have fun!!
- Double p4
Double P4 come out after you had your uphill battle in the first 11-12 minutes of the game. These are supported by shreck blobs, a luchs, multiple LeIGs and obers. Again, you are reacting too a synergy which in essence is uncounterable.
- Double Panther
If both players don't go for P4, they go for double Panthers. This is simply uncounterable as well, since they are supported by two shreck blobs, whom themselves are supported by luchs, obers and leIGs.
- KT
If you manage to kill a P4 or a Panther, or simply don't encounter anything and hold out long enough, you will face KT, which again you can't counter, since KT is supported by either armor from other player, or another KT, two shreck blobs, luchs, obers and leIGs.
Again, 1v1 is fine, 2v2 and upwards, completely and utterly broken.
Your right, Allies aint winning every match anymore...
