Maybe if you actually studied history you would've figured out you dont need any of those things when you have overwhelming advantage in numbers and quality of armored vehicles by the of the war

Excellence in all artillery, plus the Germans, the best supplier of the Red Army, in the battle for Berlin, one Soviet infantry brigade of 4,000 had 3,000 Panzerfaust. The Germans didn’t even have so many tanks, they were used for shooting at buildings. In 1944 and 1945, when the Germans massively used grenade launchers, they were not critical for the Soviets, the Soviets attacked. It was critical for the Germans.

The modern setting would change the COH style too much (it would be a different game), the only way this would work would be with very limited weapons (no long range and one-click kill weapons). In general, they must sacrifice reality for balance for this to work.
I am not against it, the only thing i want is for the game to be good as COH and COH2 were.

And this...

But them asking people about WW2 and then doing a modern setting doesn't make sense.

An interesting comment from Mittens on reddit

Quinn Duffy to VideoGamer.com about the future of CoH3, 23 Jul 2012
https://www.videogamer.com/news/company-of-heroes-could-move-out-of-wwii
"As we go forward, if we wanted to do Company of Heroes 3 in 2190 we could," Duffy continued, "because we know what we want to do to make it feel like a Company of Heroes game."

Later, Duffy added: "We wanted to take the element of WWII out of the creative vision and focus for the game moving forward. It is setting-agnostic. Company of Heroes doesn't have to be a World War II game. You can set it in modern times in Fallujah, you could set it in the past."

Cold war could be great, it's quite underused.
Modern? Not so much.

I think the best venue for CoH2 would be a Battle of France -> North Africa -> Italy direction.

I like the Greece idea as I am actually greek, but in terms of gameplay what’s there to depict? Italian armour was primitive and the first greek armoured division was made up of stolen Italian vehicles. They could show a bit of the German breakthrough into Yugoslavia and through the Rhodope mountains, but certainly not fill the scope of the game with that.

I think North Africa is the best direction and would thematically be distinct from previous games, potentially with more of a focus on fortifications and logistics.

Italy also has a lot more potential for conventional company of heroes current style of warfare and scenery, so it looks gery likely to be the direction taken.

Volksgrenadiers (= juveniles and old men)

That was Volkssturm, not Volksgrens.
Volksgrens were pretty much whatever was left from other divisions + wounded soldiers.

Changing a new Company of Heroes game from a WW2 setting to anything else would be an unrecoverable mistake.
