Commandos also have one of THE shittiest vet bonuses in the game.
25% accuracy is their ONLY combat vet bonus, while storms get proper vet.


Commandos should be buffed then! Stronger grenade and camo in red cover should help

Seems like a L2P issue to me.

By the way, the comparison with commandos is unfair, given how extremely OP commandos are and still not nerfed appropriately to this day.

Cons are compared to volks and thats fine, Stormtruppers are compared to commandos, "is unfair".

Volks primarily are mainline infantry.
Storms are primarily support infantry.
Commandos are primarily ambush CQC AI specialists.

Do you start to see the picture why it "is unfair" or should I bring crayons for better explanation?

Stormtrooper are really good, but you can't use them like rangers. They're ambush units and are great at wiping things on retreat too. L2P with them and you'll see the difference.

coh2.org balance forum verdict: unit must be bad :) It's also funny how OP claimed that the changes made Encirclement weaker. The flame nade got additional dmg vs caches and they have higher (de-)capture-rate. The only thing I agree on is the schreck upgrade. That one is so trash they might as well remove it

Ideal situations do not always appear

Most ambushes are blocked by blobing and neutralized by light vehicles

Commandos can do damage to blobing beacause they are 5 and can use good grenade

Stormtrooper does not have the skills to hit blobing units in a short time

Tactical advantage will only make four Stormtrooper die better because of the penalty



Using tactical advance at short range and using tactical advance at medium range are very different in survival

That's why I insist on returning Mp44 to the storm trooper

With an Mp44, four Stormtrooper is enough

But if it's an Mp40, we need at least five




And can you tell how to use a storm trooper with only one panzershrek?

He is not a strong AI, nor a strong AV

Even if he is in an ambush, he can not play any role with a one Panzer Shrek.

Nah, this is clearly a learn to ambush issue, i mean i made them work in a few games i had and i am not a great player. Just place them behind cover or in a crater, put hold fire on (duh) and wait for the enemy to come your way. It's really not rocket science.
It's true that they are not a great antiblob tool, but you know, you can't have everything and ostheer has other tools to handle that.
And yeah, you might as well delete the schreck.

You know how it is, if a unit can't just run up to bad breath range against shock troops and stomp them down, it must be underpowered.

you guys are missing the point here, with mp44's they are more effective. They can still ambush very well with mp44's, but also can engage at mid- long range with them compared to mp40's. mp44's gives them more versatility

I think you are missing the point.

They were given MP40s, because they are -not meant to- engage at mid-long range, because the squad was reworked into CQC ambusher, which also made it its own distinct squad that didn't overlapped with PGs.

You want mid range damage, use just buffed PGs.

They dont need to do. Wehrmacht has excellent anti blobbing tools with the Brummbar and the Panzerwerfer.

Except Commandos have 5 men and a strong grenade which makes them infinitely better than Shock Troopers.

I tend to lean this towards the L2P issue. Wanting Storms to perform better with their intended role and then defending that saying they can't take on blobs, but commandos can because they have 5 man squads with a good grenade. I'd say if your taking on blobs with any single unit, you're doing it wrong. Even Brummbars should be supported.
