It's not.


Stug is far more comparable to SU85 than SU76.

SU76 is light vehicle which belongs to the Puma T70 and 222 category. The problem it's that overperforms

Except it is not a light vehicle. It has medium crush in the game.

You could say it is based on a chassis of a light tank. And you would be right, but honestly, so is the Stug 3.

That rate of fire was nerfed. And it's not as easy to get vet 2+ stugs nowadays.

That's the problem. The Stug is made to counter mediums, ALL of which have much higher mobility than the Stug simply need to bumrush the Stug, u don't even need to flank. If the Ost player reacts ONE SECOND too late, the allied medium is already outside to cone of fire and the Stug can no longer reverse straight but now reverse and rotate at the same time to try to keep the turret facing the enemy tank which means that the Stug will not be able to maintain a safe distance to engage, which means the allied medium actually has a greater chance of knocking out the stug since the Stug's accuracy on move is very poor and the fact that Sherman and cromwell are the only two tanks that somehow almost never miss close range even on the move (while p4 and t3476 somehow don't get much better accuracy being close to their target.)

When the Ost player DOES react on time and reverses, the allied player finds out he fucked up and halts the bumrush, he can safely reverse away, again due to the fact the Stug doesn't have the speed to chase it down and punish the allied player for such an arrogant move by sending a medium tank (which Stugs "should" be an expert at countering) head on against a stug.

In conclusion, the Stug is all risk, no reward. In other words, if the allied player gets the drop on u, u lose the Stug, if u successfully counter the push, the allied player can still easily back away to safety.

The SU85, on the other hand was built to counter heavies which are largely unable to flank an SU85 due to poor speed. The only tank fast enough and has the health and armor to flank the SU85 is the panther, while any allied medium can 1v1 a Stug easy. It's sad to see that SU85 can bounce p4 shots a noticeable number of times while the Stug has 0% chance to bounce any shots against any mediums except for the t3476 which has like a 10% of bouncing.

I've already suggested, teh Stug needs either better speed and rotation or a smaller target size to something slightly bigger than a Stuart. The target size won't help up close but will make the Stug harder to hit at distance which is exactly what it needs since it's slower than all mediums. It's also historically accurate as the Stug was made with a low profile.

The SU-76 is a tier 3 anti-tank vehicle than can spend munitions to be better vs Infantry


Stop comparing it to the SU-85, which is greatly more expensive and comes with later tech. They're not the same and nor are they supposed to be. There is a reason that there are bulletins that affect both the Su-76 and the StuG.

Stug is the cheapest dedicated TD in the game.

Su-85 is 350/130. Stug is 280/90.

Stug is more comparable to the Su-76, but with more health and slightly more expensive and similar tech timing.

Panther with 60 range would be cancer.

Jackson cannot self-spot anymore, it has range but it needs combined arms to be effective.

Panther isn't over-priced for what you get either and its frontal armor makes it well worth the price.

Overall another thread where the same player (of course without having his playercard linked) whining about the same exact things.

I assume you are a low rank player? Low rank meta is completely different from high rank meta. They live in their own world in CoH2


Elefant is still used in low elo, I know because my ranked 4000 randoms charge them into the enemy all the time.
