Ah you guys are saying reskin or replace vCoH style.
Didn't think about doing it like vCoH. This could be some good $$$ for Relic
That is my wish, yes. It would bring in a lot of fresh wind.

How can you explain that they removed all CoH1 units we had? I think it has to do with legality.
If necro gives us options to fix some ingame-problems like animation or wepons, I will take it.
-> new Weapons (new sticky-bomb or M18 Recoilless Rifle)
-> new Vehicles (e.g Wirbelwind, 88FlaK or Hs129)
-> new Animations (e.g. V1-Explosion, fire-storm-rockets or bouncing-animations)
How I would like to see different blue-prints for soldiers or different Air-crafts.

Legality of what? ...blablabla speaking shit blaböabla...

Legality of using stuff of other games. It is their game, sure, but if they sell CoH1 to an other company it could get a problem.

Only if they're directly reusing assets. Even if they sold CoH1 they can't get copyright struck for something like a Jagdpanther.

You're batshit insane and have no slightest idea how any of it works...
You do realize there was P4, grenadiers, volksgrenadiers, tigers, panzergrenadiers, shermans, cromwells and so on in CoH1 and are in CoH2?

And all of them have new models, you little retarded troll. So please be nice and shut up.

Apparently, old model was good enough for Ostwind, stubby P4(ToW), 250, 251, 222 and plenty others(inb4 you confuse texture with model).
Again, you're batshit insane and you have no slightest idea what you are talking about.
CoH1 models are OWNED BY FUCKING RELIC, THE SAME COMPANY THAT MADE CoH2. The IP belongs to relic and their -CURRENT- publisher, not past one.
So cut the bullshit before it overflows.

It is called blue-print in CoH-folders. It includes the textures, polygones and animations.
Relic doesn't own anything, it is Sega. And if you want to sell the rights of a game, you can't put stuff of a. and put it into b. without any problem.
Thats is why most mods of any game are more or less illegal, they intermix stuff of other games using same engine.

It is truly astonishing how much crap you can pull out of your ass on this one...
Please, stop embarrassing yourself with "knowledge" you've just invented.
I fucking WORKED in the industry, publisher doesn't own SHIT other then rights to publish the game. Even if publisher owns the developer company, its company who owns its IPs, unless they have originated from publisher itself and let me assure you on this one - SEGA did not invented CoH and neither did THQ.

But you do realize that laws are not the same in every country and that IPs can actually be - you know - "sold"?
Posts: 1392
Its not about laws, but about acquisition contract.
Posts: 17914 | Subs: 8
If you break "acquisition contract" you break the law. English isn't my native language, I was hoping, that it is easy to understand my statement. Breaking rights.
Relic could use CoH1 stuff in CoH2, but if they sell one game, there could be problems.
If Microsoft buys Relic there shouldn't be any money-problems anymore. And if it is possibl to make cheap Addons etc. why not use CoH1 stuff. The models are still very good.

Just for the record.... you are aware I'm not talking about directly porting models, but about making them(or not, because its pointless, because they already were present in 1 game and there is no need for them in 2nd one when there is plenty of other interesting possibilities, as I have fucking said initially, because as clearly evidenced with multiple examples I gave, there is nothing stopping relic from having the same unit in 2 games)?

If they're remaking models then any IP concerns would be irrelevant anyway, I'm not sure why anyone's even bothering talking about IP if the discussion is revolving around creation of new models of WWII era vehicles, rather than directly using existing assets.
That said... you were talking about reusing models in post #108.
