Ok then. Let's wait until PFs changes go in to the live game and see what happens.
Yeah they won't break the game, don't worry.

IR STG is already a reliable upgrade, giving them tactical assault would make them terminators.

What about giving Obers with IR StG tactical assault? Maybe with an upgrade cost increase to match MG34.

The reason why you dont see IR STG Obers in 1v1 is because going Spec Ops makes you skip T4 for Command Panther call-in.
No one builds T4 first if he has Spec Ops equipped.

Incorrect, LMG is far easier to put to good use.
Having to risk your 4 man elite infantry squad in mid/close range fights without any tools to help you get to those ranges is crap. Give them camo.

IR STG 44s have almost as much DPS as the LMG 34 at range 30 against units in cover (12,88 dps vs 13,45 dps at range 30). Below range ~25 they are much better. On the move they are much better. They are cheaper and they synergize way better with aggressive tank play. They are much better against Allied CQC infantry trying to close in. They will even beat Rangers quite easily.
I don't think they need anything else.

If they were so good, you'd see them used much more often.

Obers are OKW T3.
Doctrine its in heavily REWARDS skipping T3 and getting vastly superior tank without tech.
Tie command panther to T3 and you'll see these STGs in every single game.
This is simply untrue. Take the Easy Eight: it's an excellent tank, but it's in Rifle Company so you barely ever see it.
IR StGs are only available at the moment if you go Special Operations and build T3. That's not common.

Nice theory, but in reality the perks of IR STGs don't outweigh the cons of not having an LMG and that's why they are not used even when people get t3 as Spec Ops. All either upgrade offers is a pure combat unit in slightly different flavors, one of which is just straight up better and comes stock. Camo would give them a role outside of just fighting, they could actually be used for recon or stealth capping.

Except.... they do..... and you had that explained to you in post 169..... ignoring overwhelming advantages does not make them disappear.

Better DPS numbers in riskier combat conditions does not make them better than LMGs, which you'd understand if you actually played the game. I'm going to pick the upgrade that does better DPS at long range, which also greatly reduces the risk of my expensive 4 man infantry squad from getting wiped on retreat.

You're assuming the enemy will always fight at the range you want them to.
If you're up against Shocks, they're going to close. In that case, you'll want the higher damage weapon at the range they're going to fight at.

We have STG Volks and G43 Pfuss for that already. IR STG does not fill a gap that isn't already covered and they're especially redundant in the new commander. Adding utility to them is the only way to go without making them OP.

IR STGs cannot be dropped either, removing the risk of giving the enemy the best lmg in the game.
