My SU85 got Beat by a Stug?

I watched the replay as was confused how it happened, guessed he had an AT gun but he had nothing and it was 1 on 1 both tanks hitting each others front, but the Stug won. I was at close range with the Stug if that makes a difference?

Can happen (not common though). The StuG has pretty small target size and good penetration so you may have had a few misses. If the StuG has vet it can also use a tank shock/stunning ability. But if you engage at range, the StuG is outranged and can't pursue because of speed. Also, you can 2-shot a StuG with an SU-85.

Stug has better penetration than the P4 I found out recently. Although it is unlikely to beat a su-85 head on.

I think a vet 1 or vet 2 stug should be a close fight with a vanilla su85, post patch.. Gonna try it out tonight.

How is Stug going to reach vet 1 or 2 in time for SU85 arrival, any success? It almost takes longer than P4 to vet since it lacks 2 coaxial machine guns and it's sluggishness.

I found out why it got beaten. It was on Minsk Pocket and my SU happened to be on a slight slope so its shots were going high. That's why I hate Minsk Pocket, sometimes your vehicles can be on a bump in the ground without you knowing. Thought something was strange.

Another thing. Do not underestimate the STUGs vet 1 ability. Target Weakpoint can easily allow a STUG to get 1-2 free shots on you while the tank is stunned. They can win that way.

That is incredibly unlucky. I rarely have a StuG beat 1 flanking T-34. Even head on, a StuG against 2 is usually a loss.

I've never seen something like that. SU85 literally annhilate a single Stug and can easily win against a pair of them.
