instead of adding a fifth man to grenadier

They make them more resistant to wipe without needing to balance having a fifth man.

the big problem is: in most fights a gren lose the first model in 1-2 sec. (IDKW)
and with 3 models is not a good tip to recrew teamweapons...
since i play sov ...its a completly other playstile with it 6 model guards... never wiping...never have problems with recrewing or something..

The G43 ability could replace all k98 add a 5 member to gren and Pgs and be about SVT/Garand level.
Shreck and Lmg upgrades would be mutual exclusive.
Ostheer would then trade DPS for durability.
It would then have to be move to commanders without access to super heavies.

That sounds like a good way of making gren blobs OP in the late game No, like seriously, this is not a good idea.
oh..u mean like all other faction have this possibilty?

Imo 5 man in Ostheer infantry could be introduced as a doctrinal ability.

I think the problem here would be that the Ostheer Grens get the very most DPS out of the one guy firing the LMG42 or would this upgrade in your suggestion be not researchable once the G43 has been researched?

Have you even taken a look at the stats of grens and other line infantry? Grens have excellent stats, and they scale really well with vet.
There is abosolutely NO reason to add a 5th man on grens or increase HP/model...

Was unclear sorry. Lmg and schreck mutually exclusive with g43. Either 5 men with carbine weapons or 4 with other weapons.

Excellent stats man for man, but they drop DPS faster than any other squad in the game (keep in mind that poor poor tommies just couldnt survive with a .9 target size despite their reduced reinforcement costs, but grens can make do with a slightly larger one....) They also are very expensive to reinforce (more so than any allied counterpart) and are automatically subject to focus fire (5/6 men shooting at 4 men means its guaranteed than 1 gren model is being targeted by 2 or more men at all times. Meaning more chances to score a hit and more chances to burst down a model quickly) but they DO do alright in the early mid game, its late game where they are susceptible to wipes (all that delicately cultivated vet can disappear in a single roll of rng.. Or just focus fire from eaqualy vetted but better armed enemies) grens are just too squishy come late game and need a small something

Keeping grens alive in lategame a pain, they die to AoE so damn fast.
In 2's this is really horrendous, where lategame ost consists of nothing but armor and a train of pio's.
have the last tier give a +2hp bonus to every ost 4 men squad, except for pioneer.
They make them more resistant to wipe without needing to balance having a fifth man.
increaseing hp by 2 also means that every infantry force needs another shot to kill grens.
Bulletins that did the same got removed for a good reason.

That's the main reason, why this wouldn't be a good solution.
2HP in this case would mean a buff of way more "theoretical" HP, as it doesn't matter if its 2 or 10 HP if it means that Grens can survive another shot.
Afaik currently they can survive 4(?) hits, and this would now mean they can survive = about 20% more survivability.
Sorry I suck at calculating with percentages.

Ostheer infantry seem to still be wiped too easily and probably the lethality of weapons need to go down, especially since Ostheer units should serve as the benchmark and currently they seem lackluster.
