Look I love ww2 I really do.

But I can't be the only one who would think it would become repetitive?

I mean why not just do an expansion to coh2 than. You'll only get a handful of units that are new and such.

Then there is going to be the historical arguments around balance and such.

A cold war era would be perfect considering you can add Germany/British etc etc as expansion.

And each side has an equal counterpart. In terms of attack helicoptors, light armored vehicles, and main battle tanks. And relic can go in any direction they want. Not historical

I think ww2 is at the perfect spot for complexity of tech. Do you really want a game where each side only has one Main Battle Tank, instead of a bunch of variety in TDs, mediums, heavies?

The 1950s, 1960s look very cool, there was a lot of staff more than in the WW2.

You need to do some research man. There was plenty of different MBT as well as support tanks. There isn't just T90s, there are T72s and so on. There are M60s and whatnot.

Except those are all main battle tanks that function the same....

There are Also infantry carriers that had multi rolls. Such as communications, commanders, AT, AI

I mean simply google Cold War era tanks, support vehicles, infantry personal carriers, helicopters. There are light medium and heavy on every category. Not to mention Germany had tanks, as well as British, and other neighboring European countries.

Keep in mind that relic would be able to balance out and such as they please

I would gladly vote for 2 of these options like africa 42-43 and modern warfare, both seem attractive but since I can vote just for one I finally chose "Das Afrikakorps"! :)

I would definitely like it to stick to WW2 - that iconic link between Band of Brothers and CoH is one of the most unique associations in video games and should be preserved.

I thought about voting for the Italian front but still ended up picking Normandy. Either would be nice to have.

Kinda of spent on Allies vs Germany. The Africa campaign would be more of the same, IMO. That's why if they stuck with WW2, to go with a Pacific campaign. USA/USSR/Australia vs Japan. There's plenty of land fighting to explore there.

Ditto. The Korean War has never been explored in an RTS that I'm aware of. It's an extension of WW2 tech.

Had to vote Vietnam War (or American War if you're Vietnamese) for the Huey call-in and napalm strikes. Demo charge < bamboo traps.

i would think its safe to say you can combine "cold war going hot" and "modern warfare" together. there are a lot of military equipment from both time periods with the only difference is technology inside them.

both votes combined would become the 2nd most voted category.

I voted Korean war. It's a very unexplored period of time on ANY strategy game, and the subject is fascinating.

Africa/italy front is in my opinion the best way to get a new and fresh feeling to COH. They could start with 2 base factions Brits & italians and as an expansion use USA/Germany.

WW1 is also an option but i think that would be a real challange to get right.

I voted for North Africa, but I would also like the Italian front. Maybe a combination would be the best alternative, that is, the game begins in 1941/42 in Crete and North Africa, and ends in the Italian front in 1944/45.

Hey Africa guys

HF with your Panzer 3 and Crusaders as late game tanks.

If you want a short preview, play some games with Luchs, Stuart and Valentine as only available tanks.

your post makes no sense, germany's afrika korps had access to tiger tanks and pv4, britts had access to churchill's and matilda's, Italians had the P26/4, usa had the sherman.

I always thought a starwars version would be tits. Like focusing on the military aspects.

Like speeders = jeeps kubels type units we have
pz4 = At-ST
KT= AT-AT
there are tons and tons of vehicles from the movies that would fit to similair roles we have now
so on and so forth

call ins = jedi/sith powers and commanders with things like X-wing loiter, y-bomber run

Korean war got my vote.

I'd also be happy for a alternate reality Wolfenstein-esque strategy game.
