How would you address new factions' powercreep?

Think of it like socialism, why bring in something new and unique if you're just going to dumb it down to basic, ground level because these and these people aren't able to cope with it?

I don't think comparing two different political, economic and philosophical systems is an appropriate analogy to video game balance. Besides nobody (at least, nobody sensible) is arguing for across the board nerfs to WFA & brits, or removal of their interesting mechanics. What we are trying to say is that if there are a few units or features that are overpowered it makes more sense to bring them back to a more reasonable level.

More on topic: I don't think the powercreep has been contained to just WFA. The recent patch contained primarily buffs for Ostheer and Soviets, mostly buffs with some nerfs (net buff overall) to USF, no real change/slight nerf to Brits, and a nerf to OKW.

this is how game diversity dies, with double lmg, 5 men, and terminator vet for grenadier and volks

I don't like it, axis CQC squads (namely pgrens and sturmpios, that's basically all that's worth mentioning) are already struggling to remain relevant outside niche roles due to unremarkable durability and low model counts. They still work well in the ambush and defensive roles in cover, but their problem is GETTING to cover; they so often lose a model trying to get there and with that 25% DPS drop they no longer have much of an advantage against most decent infantry squads.

hmm, I may have overlooked tha axis bois (pgrens are exempted as I see them more as medium range squads). I was mainly talking about BARiflemen and shock troops though. But I did also say that CQCs will get a good amount of increased sight range (a bit above normal squad's) to help plan flanking maneuvers.

"diversity" already died last balance patch. usf getting mortar, okw turned into wannabe ostheer (stock mg, core inf getting snare and some shit wep upgrade).

might as well give grens 5 man, cons a wep upgrade and tommies a snare too eh GabeN

Believe me when I say it that I've seen forward retreat and automatic repairs (from OKW for example) or at least the high repair rate of the WFA being superior to that of the EFA being nerfed being suggested.

And the political comparison is the closest thing I could thing of at that moment but yeah considering it was very late night you're kinda right about it now that I think about it.

Still, why not bring up a few EFA units up to WFA levels again, instead of nerfing them. What comes to my mind first is the EFA main line infantry units, those being the Grenadiers and Cons.

I mean, how are you exactly going to nerf the KT down to Tiger levels without losing any credibility for the game being "realistic" (what little realism there is left) and without an uproar from the Axis player base? Of course this just an example but I think you understand what I'm talking about and I agree that there is a gap that needs to be bridged between the WFA and EFA before the support for the game ends.

Power creep affects repair speeds and infantry strength.
WFA general infantry have strength of EFA elite call-ins.

There isn't much issue with armor, especially now that allied stock TDs are more then a match for axis heavies.

At the end, it still boils down to EFA veterancy being just inferior to WFA and up and I'm not even talking about raw bonuses, but vet1 abilities and passives as well, which EFA simply do not have, EFA vet1 for everything that isn't ost tank or SU penals is just a cosmetic, at best a gimmick while WFA and UKF have all useful, meaningful and interesting vet1, often affecting direct gameplay. You won't find the same for extremely passive, generalized and boring vet1 of EFA.

Agreed, also because Allied TDs are meant to counter the heavier OKW Heavies such as the KT and Jagdtiger the Tiger and Elefant are left in the dust as well.

So simple buffs to the EFA in order to even them out with the WFA would be the best way to go if you ask me, for example give Ost (an upgrade for) 5 man squads instead of 4, tweak both veterancies and the abilities they unlock, forward retreat points, fix some commanders by combining the abilities in them like for WFA and so forth.

How hard can it be to at least fix Ostheer squad spacing anyway? Relic can't fix that even to this day?

Give WFA armies a fourth tier.

Allow for proper pacing of their units.

Put mortar and MG together in that tier for USF. Make it super cheap. Hell give them a sniper and call it Weapon Support Center.

For OKW give them a Sturmpio-built Kampfkraft Center type tier building that houses access to the truck side techs and qualifies for unlocking MG34 and panzerfausts. Include an upgrade that unlocks Schwerer AA gun, and even perhaps, panzerschrecks.

OKW could even have their vet capped at 3, and level 4 and 5 unlocked through upgrades. But that's just gettin' silly.

And that's just off the top of my head.

I would like to see a more consistent drop of models for all factions. Like a 4 man squad will lose models on 75% 50% 25% 0%. I just find it wrong that a unit with 30% or less health can still have a full squad, and another squad losing models at the first shot fired against them

maybe you should tell that to yourself, because I saw you getting rekt as OKW live on miragefla's stream a couple days ago :D

also by "l2p across the board" do you also mean Vindicare, a top 50 1v1 player? or the 60 people who agreed WFA-EFA balance is off?

ok then Genoobie, I'll be glad to tell all those scrubs about your "I'm right, you're all wrong" opinion then.

Yeah bro, fighting top 50 player matches that's gotta be some sort of insult. Gonna give A for effort and a L2P issue once again.

What kind of botched english is that supposed to be. Is that referring to my first sentence or my second?

And before you tell all the people here who agreed that Ostheer is UP (and all of them probly better than you) to L2P, please do so yourself first. Seriously, it's cringy. And hilarious seeing how badly you got stomped.

I do not want to back up my words nor do I need to; I only said what I said because you insisted that all these people who agreed Ostheer is UP (including top 50 1v1 players) just need to "L2P" apparently. And because you weren't really adding much to the discussion. I specifically asked for people to post suggestions regarding the second option. Yes there are also posts which are off topic, but they weren't as toxic or dismissive as your's.

We see things differently - that's fine. But if you're going to post try not to be toxic and try to stay on topic. otherwise the poll is there; just vote the first or third option and move on.

That said, I am willing to let this matter rest if you are.
