Sadly the game is poorly (if at all) optimised. So even if you had an unlimited budget and created a rig with all the best components currently available, the game would still run very badly relative to the pc running it.

People have been asking Relic to optimise the game for ages (before WA came out it ran much better), but so far nothing :-(

Pretty sure not even a 980GTX Titan can run this game on max settings 60 FPS.

You cant your gfx, is not good enough. You can test it out in game... Under gfx options... Play with settings and see how high you can get it, before it ruins the game for you

Above is as high as i can play smoothly with them settings. Is it just my Graphics card which is preventing running it smoothly on higher settings?

I have the 980 GTX Titan, and you're right, it can't.

It runs pretty good, mostly on 60 FPS, but not when the hard fight starts.

You need at least 16 gb of ram to run this nicely on max.
also it's more optimized for nvidia cards over AMD
that being said it also runs better on Intel.

i have a 970ti
16 gigs
3.5 ghz intel i7.
and a 250gb solidstate

and a 1tb storage on the side for when i need to move games from my SSD to that.

There's probably no graphics card that can run CoH 2 well in today's standards.

So never try :luvDerp:

I own the Amd 965 black edition overclocked to 4.0 ghz and the game still runs relatively slow (with a Ati 7970 gpu). I'm thinking the architecture of that particular processor and the combination of the rams speed hinders the performance.

AMD FX 9370 (4,4 8-core)
MSI GTX 970 4GB
16 GB DDR3 RAM

Medium/High settings (AA off) and I can play 1v1s and 2v2s with the fps dropping to 40 in the largest fights, otherwise runs pretty well

You can't really play this game on max settings without spending 5000€ on your system :snfPeter:

You actually can, but not if you expect 60fps. I still dont really get what is the difference in player performance between 30 and 60fps. I mean I understand it looks better but its not like 10fps that makes it harder to issue orders or something.

Also, CoH2 does not support 144hz monitors, what a surprise. :romeoPls:

I recommend to turn down anti aliasing BTW.

'Once I fiddled around a bit I managed to get it looking good and running well on a GTX670/i5-2500k. If I max everything to the max I only get 26fps on the benchmark which is pretty crazy.' - that's a forum post from 2 years and 7 months ago (http://goo.gl/mmM6F7).

Skip forward to today and I get 30fps on the benchmark and I have a GTX960/AMD A10-5800k, and that isn't even with everything maxed out.

It seems the best way to get this game to run well is to go back in time.
If they ever do fix war spoils, we'll have to all try and make sure the next 'big' thing the community moans about is the need for optimisation.

I don't understand how it isn't the big thing... that is why I left years ago. I was so disappointed with the game and how it ran, and still nothing has changed. If THQ was around this wouldn't have happened. :P

Seriously though, by it not being optimized it turns a lot of people away cause they load up the game, get the lowest settings. They are basically playing with legos the entire time because everything looks so bad.

It can, I'm the living proof :) !
But ofc, the 60 FPS are not stable after a few games (thanks Mem'leak)

To do that you need intel i5, more ram, and a better gfx card. So new computer.

My 2011 tech runs it fine near highest, so I don't find the demands unreasonable.
No AA though (really don't like AA)
