Should T-34/85 be non doctrinal?

T-34/76 is an OK, but slightly overpriced, generalist, but it cannot compete in late game.
The SU-85 is a good tank sniper, but it is no tank and is more of a defensive tool than an offensive one. Without tank cover it is very vulnerable, and soviet infantry lacks the AT weapons that every other faction has to screen TD's.
Making the '85 non doctrinal would make the Soviets much more competitive and balanced. Tank engagements will no longer be so one-sided.
It's about time I think.

I would rather see an upgrade option for individual tanks, not global , for a munition/fuel cost and the tank drives off the field like the USF Withdraw and Refit.
This would mean no spontaneous tanks changing in the field but having to retreat from the front lines and then drive back on as the T34/85.

no because i'd rather see the 34/76 buffed and the 34/85 remain more powerful than the IV in order to give USSR variety. the soviets already have enough weak/average units without losing their good ones.
why do you compare T-34-85 with Pz4?
T-34-85 must be compared with Easy Eight, Comet and Panther. And it is the worst among them

With buff you will get good medium tank or just a bit better medium tank. Too similar.

If you buff 34/76 and increase it's price, what's the reason to get T34/85 then? Currently you can get cheap useful tank, or normal price powerful.

Good point
What if an upgrade function were implemented on the t34/76, allowing it to upgrade to t34/85? Of course, this upgrade should only be available in certain commanders. If we put the t34/76 in tier 3.5, i think this could work.
I don't know how much the upgrade should be in terms of resources though.

Relic appears to want 76's in T4 and 85's as commander linked. This is fine as long as 76's serve a function, which they do not right now.
Ram on 85's needs to be removed and the tank given something small in return.
Ram on 76's is debatable, but should at least do something other than waste a tank (as it does right now).

The doctorinal T34-85 can be replaced with M4c, KV-1 or they can implement a new medium tank (or all for different commanders).

I would rather like to see the T34/76 moved to T3 and locked behind an upgrade and the KV 1 added to T4. The KV 1 would work perfectly with the SU 85 and give the Soviet core tree units some survivability which I always felt they lacked. By replacing the KV 1 in Counterattack Tactics with KV 8, IS 2, KV 2 or T34/85 this doctrine would be buffed a little and be more than just mediocre again.
Or they just simply make the KV-1S or the KV-85.

i don't compare the 34/85 and the IV, i'm saying i don't want the 34/85 made non-doctrinal because people would bitch and it would get nerfed. then soviets would have an ok tank and a shit tank instead of a shit tank and a good tank.
