You're right.
Cromwell needs a heavy nerfing and then a price increase on top of that to make it perfectly 'balanced', like every other british unit in recent patches.

Also nerf the sexton because that thing wiped one of my squads and this is clearly not allowed kappa

How does one ''rush'' a medium tank that requires 250 fuel to obtain unless they dominated the early game hard?

And given that Brits have mediocre early game, if any Axis player manages to be beaten by them, they deserve a facefull of the King's shilling as I see it.

Maby it's stock stats are good because it hasn't got a veteran ability and/or side skirts? Imo a Sherman is more cost effective then a Cromwell as well.

What makes it better than the sherman is the fact that it has better pen values, can easily get behind a PIV and gain the upperhand, circle stomp ATs and run over shrecks, and blitz out of risky situations.

Exactly the same pen as sherman.

can easily get behind a PIV and gain the upperhand,

Not easier then any other medium tank can, maybe next time you should micro your p4 instead of leaving it there immobile.

circle stomp ATs

The only other tank that does it worse is T34/76.
P4 and sherman are incomparably superior here.

and run over shrecks,

Just as P4s can run over zooks and piats.

and blitz out of risky situations.

Hypocrisy crit for over 9000 fanboy damage here.

I think the Cromwell is fairly strong, and that's alright. But it's too cheap for its performance - 340/110 vs. 350/125 for an Ostheer PIV, while being just as good, if not better.

Take a look at the stats:

http://stat.coh2.hu/squad.php?filename=cromwell_mk4_75mm_squad_mp
http://stat.coh2.hu/squad.php?filename=panzer_iv_squad_mp

The PIV has stronger armor (180/90 vs. 160/80) and better MGs. The Cromwell has a smaller target size (18 vs. 22), faster max speed, acceleration and rotation along with higher moving accuracy (0.75 vs. 0.5) and higher penetration (135/120/105 vs. 120/110/100), as well as lower scatter.

Based on that, I would say the Cromwell is at least as good as the Panzer IV, so it should cost as much. I don't think a slightly increased fuel cost (+10-15) would hurt.

It should not cost more, because the P4 got alot better veterancy bonuses. Hell, the Sherman is a better tank imo and costs 110 fuel also. vet 3 P4 > vet 3 Cromwell

It definitely isn't "too good". It's only "cost-effective" and "good and rewarding" (BTW probably the only UKF unit apart from sappers that this can be said about)
But sherman is definitely not better. Cromwell has a simillar penetration, and much bigger effectivity against infantry.

It's true that the PIV armor increase is pretty good, as is Blitzkrieg. The Cromwell gets a faster reload at both Vet 2 and 3 instead, giving it a reload time of 5,93*0,7*0,8=3,3208 seconds. That's a pretty massive decrease. The smoke shell is also useful, and it can get emergency war speed as well.

The Sherman has almost the same AT performance as the Cromwell, with 140/120/100 vs. 135/120/105 pen and the same accuracy and reload time. It probably has better AI performance with HE ammo. But like the PIV, it's also easier to hit and less mobile than the Cromwell. All in all, I think the Cromwell is a bit better than the Sherman.

Having stronger armor vs factions that (usually) have less penetration on their AT is not a negligible advantage. For instance, a Cromwell needs to flee from shrecks unless it's a lone one that it can crush. Whereas a PIV can facetank several zooka or PTRS squads for a while. Combined with a blitzkrieg that doensn't require teching cost and (doctrinally) the best OHSHIT ability in the game in the form of instant smoke, and I feel the PIV is much more survivable than a Cromwell when I use it.

I'd accept a 10 fuel cost increase, maximum, and more to delay the Cromwell than because of its performance. The tank feels fine to me.

p4 should have same penetration as cromwell. Short dick sherman has more penetration than the long barreled p4. Which makes no goddamn sense.

Sherman would have a better AI performance, if it wouldn't be shooting kilometers away of it's target. While cromwell is a good sniper. Of course RNG sometimes can mess him up, but...
