Theyre Similar to Thompson Paratroopers with their Thompsons of course but they come out earlier than them, paras do have more utility though with their 2 different weapon upgrades, being able to reinforce at beacons and extra abilities

As a person who used Rangers alot so far in 2v2s I must say they are good but theyre certainly not that overpowered, you get 2 and you start to slowly bleed manpower and while they can 1v1 most squads you cant just charge up I just find that theyre an AWESOME! flanking unit and I only need 1 for that XD

Newsflash:

Paras are better and cheaper, have more dps and better survivability vs non small arms weapons while being comparably durable vs small arms.

Maybe buff ranger dps or make them more tanky

Come out earlier? Same CP cost at 3.

Lol, I had 2 squads stand in volks flamenades, and still wipe the 4 volks squads.

With 2 sturmpios flaming them too.

Rangers have fireproof skin.

Thanks in advance for linking the replay, I am sure your post is 100% true.

the problem is i think okw anti infy units dont perform well aka obers and falls they need massive buffs after recent changes more so and i think panzergrenadiers need to be the whermact close range elite unit or maybe buff stormtroppers and ass grens

Paras have no recieved accuracy reduction until vet 3. They lose models a lot more quickly than rangers

Paras have 480 hp vs small arms.
Rangers have 500 effective hp vs small arms.
Paras have more dps because of additional carbine as well as the ability.

Paras also cost less, are easier to sustain and can be deployed as well as reinforced on the field next to pf beacons.

Only reason to go for rangers over paras is because one is a fanboy of pershing.

How did you calculate that?

Rangers have 20% reduced accuracy and paras have 1 more man aka 20% more health. They should have the same effective health vs small arms with paras being more durable against explosions.

Is 10 less initial manpower and 4 less reinforcement cost really so huge on a smaller squad with more durable models? You potentially bleed less because you'll be losing less models. Plus you have an extra weapon slot. Both are slight variants in terms of ability. But paratroopers have slight advantages in one area, while rangers have slight advantages in another.

Both practically the same except for a few minor differences, but you cant call in paratroopers with heavy cavalry.

Strong squad but not batshit broken for cost, except that they should have max one weapon slot. Fairly decent design by relic for once.

Actually I am gonna partially revise that, Rangers are too durable and too cheap.

For Para, don't forget the beacon from Pathfinders, on large map with beacon + self heal they seldom retreat, not to mention Para with LMG is still the best long range AI inf for US with rifle LMG nerfed.

Rangers vet 0 are just 'ok' even with thompsons. However once they get to vet 2-3 they become pretty good. Airborne is probably better for 1v1. But I prefer this in team modes.

Paratrooper 6 x 80hp = 480hp
Ranger 5 x 80hp x 1/0.8 = 500hp
