Does the T-34/76 need love?

t-34 76 is just bad. Its arrival time is a problem but the tank is just bad. Every-time I tried to use the t34 76 I immediately wish I was using a panzer 4, sherman or cromwell instead.

Both the panzer4 and the cromwell are both excellent tanks that compare well to the panther and the comet. Ironically the two faction without access to an advanced medium in their tech are also the two faction with the two worst medium tanks (USF and SOV).

I remember when the t34 76 was actually useful for about when their reload were unintentionally buffed. The t34 have been junk ever since that particular bug was fixed. Just decrease the reload time by about one second and the t34 will be fine.

Looks like this thread needs a reminder again:
It costs 80 friggin' fuel! For this price it's performance is good enough.

The question is not whether the costs and performance are correctly correlated. The issue I raised is that the 34/76 is seldom seen, to the point that it's almost not in the game.

In general terms, there is no point in any game having a unit that is never built, or so seldom as to be close to never. And as someone else pointed out, it is an iconic unit, and precisely the one that you would expect to see fielded by this army in this game.

I'm not making an argument that it should be buffed, or any specific thing. I'm only pointing to the fact that very few players seem to find any reason to build it, and that I think this is a pity. I would like to see the 34/76 appear more often, by whatever means that is achieved.

If we buff the T-34 vs infantry, best to just make the MGs do a little bit more rather than the main cannon, though if there's one thing the T-34 does well it's crushing troops.

SU-85 overlaps too much with the SU-76 atm. Both fire quickly, have the same pen and both a relatively fragile when caught out of position. I know some people have suggested to change its vet to make it less of a rapid fire machine gun and have its base pen moved up. I would say it could be made closer to a Jagdpanzer where it's well-protected against other mediums frontally like it used to be, especially since it can no longer warp speed out of the area like it used to. Would help differentiate the SU-76 and 85 more as well.

It also needs its accuracy brought in line with all other TDs.

Increasing the mgs could be good, it punishes players for standing in front of tanks but doesn't wipe squads as much as main gun improvements it just needs to be able to inflict some kind of bleed w/o running stuff over

Delete su-76 replace with t34 in t3. Put t34-85 as normal unit in T4. x)

+1. Can be cp requrment for T3 t3476 to prevent rush.

After watching several top games I say that ostheer smoke is uncounterable 90% of the time. Its an abuse. I really like ram to be powerful.

Just like smoke make RAM a vet 1 ability. Good snare for risking a vet1+ unit Seems Balancable (lower mp cost so they reach vet1 a bit faster for example )

If they're gonna be crap and tier 4 they should be cheap. Also, the 85 should be cheaper since its pretty mediocre as well. They don't stand up to the Panzer that well and cost more.

Soviets being able to field tons of crappy units doesn't work when they're expensive.

How about introducing a price correction mechanism based on unlocked tiers, to combat the "call in meta" ?

We would see t34 and other t4 units more often as a result.

It will not happen. People will build T4 OK, but they will save resorces for IS, KV and etc.
If i need tank i will take tank not teen can no matter how cheap it is.

Just move the Kv-8 from Shock Rifle, its braindead to have two call-ins in one commander.

Puzzled Mechanised Assault looks at you.

And it makes the other 20 commanders for Soviets useless.

Especially NKVD, oh yeah. If you pick up some SU playable stuff, it does not make the rest of the SU trash playable.

It's funny to see the proposals for the improvement T-34-76 worsening of the rest:rofl:

This does not work. T-34-76 already cheap.

Love, no love, if T34 will get any better than it is now, it needs a sensible price increase.

One of the problem with the t34 is that by the time you get to tier4 you have ticked the number of command point where heavies are aviable.
Teching to T4 + T34 is something like 170 fuel which you can be tempted to invest into a KV8 or wait 75 more fuel and build an IS2 for more impact than a T34. One could argue that when you build a IS2 you could have 2 T34 and the price of each t34 is reduced for each t34 you build.

Of course. In fact, the price does not matter. If tomorrow will introduce IS-3 on the same principles that the KT (all tier required), but for 1000 mp and 300 fuel... If it is good enough, everyone will use it.

Soviet medium fuel cost is 165/175

For comparison:
Ostheer is 175
USF is 155/165
and UKF is 130 (but has a lot of side tech)

So saying they come out the same time as heavies is a huge exaggeration. T-34s come out the same time as all other mediums.
