You're making a healthy assumption that it doesn't have defensive mechanics against these.
I highly advise you to reread its first ability on the screenshot :sibHyena:
"Brace structure".. sounds bullshit to me. An ability countering the hard counters. What about anti tank shell paste for tanks?

Im not sure about few things... More expensive, worse and easier to counter.

Pak43 - 500MP, shooting through everything all the time.
17 Pounder - 400MP 75F - can shoot through only with ability + it will be quite easy to deny it when consider it does not shoot through everything + Ostheer Air abilites, Stuka, Sturmtiger, MHT etc.

If you shout 'Brace! Brace! Brace!', it sounds action-packed, as if the immobile British mortar crew are about do something: whereas if you shout 'Paste! Paste! Paste!', it sounds passive, as if the active Ostheer tankers are shirking in their wallpapering duties.

And seriously? I don't like 'Brace' and I wish the UK mortar was mobile.

Meanwhile, people were jacking off in awe on how awesome copy pasted tiger and panther are.

There is only so much you can do to alter the looks of these weapons.
How they work is completely different.

I don´t know where this defensive focus comes from. Last time I checked the British were on an advance in 1944. Is that some WW1 stereotype that was still in the developers head?

Its a WWII game. There's only a certain amount of variety posisble without completely neglecting history.

From what I've seen form the UKF so far, looks like a great faction, keeping some cool features of the past mixing with new stuff.

Hope this will increase allied player base in automatch.

Have you read the blog/articles about brits yet?

They aren't focused on defense, they have option for it that supports such playstyle, but its just one way they can go and definitely not the strongest one.

I'm not excited.

If Brits is all about cool voice-acting and digging in CoH1 Vire River Valley style, this is gonna be shitty.

Def. holding on to my money, better spent on #OCF.

I just realized how redundant these videos are.

Hey did you know the Brits get a sweet mortar team that shoots stuff? Seriously! Here's a video of it doing mortar things like lobbing smoke and shelling infantry from a distance!

Oh they also get a 17 Pounder AT weapon that is really good against tanks. Don't believe us? Here's a video of the 17 Pounder AT shooting German tanks! See, and you didn't believe me!

Crap, one last thing: The UKF also get a 40mm Bofor AA/AI emplacement and its main role, believe it or not, is to shoot at aircraft and infantry. Don't worry we have a video of that too, we spared no expense!

Much vaunted 'Brace' also missing....;)...but it's still a double-mortar pit.

It is still immobile. I hope Relic decides to give players a mobile solution as well :*(

There is also the question of range.

Remember coh1 brit +60% range doctrinal improvement? This was one of the reasons why it was so strong back then.

The idea of developing a faction which has the opportunity to turtle is not my preferred cup of tea.

I had hoped we would see Brits become a faction that fit the COH style better than vCOH Brits, but these videos are making me really nervous.
