Lol, again the easy 8 is not performing for cost. It's 145 fuel

In the next patch it will be 380 MP and 130 fuel.

Ah thought it got the same price reduction as the 85 did. Still; 140 is good for something thats objectively better than the OKW PIV.

EZ 8 is fine.

Axis on the other hand needs Hitler Youth.

Why would it need even more active players?

People build E8s when they have major tier unlocked?

Why?

Why?

Stronger frontal armour and better pen than regular Sherman, synergises better with Jackson in the anti-armour role.
Apart from that, seriously, the E-8 is far from crap, what the hell. Go for an LT/Cpt build, gives you insane early pushing power with vet rifles plus M20, later staying power with At guns/indirect fire and eventually an Easy-8 blob that is absolutely lethal if you manage to vet it up and also easier to micro than a Sherman/Jackson combo. Flare plus phosphorous plus Pack Howie works wonders to clear out Ostheer camping btw.
Greatly mitigates the inherent risk of goint Lt-Major, since you'll have no effective AT if you lose your Sherman...

I would say make it 10 fuel cheaper or buff it's HP SLIGHTLY(though we all know how Relic loves to overbuff/overnerf things). :foreveralone:

Giving it an extra 2HP would SOMEHOW be like giving it 160HP :P

Are you sure you play Axis? 10 min sherman into E8 spam has been the norm on urban maps for a while now.

I can't remember the time I last played against a USF player that did anything else on semois.

But thats just it, you can't do the stalling LT + CPT combo into E8s anymore. Thats why players are wondering about its role. It was used before because it gave USF the ability to get all of their support weapons in one game without sacrificing armor, but now players have to tech to get an E8. E8s are just less efficient than Jacksons and Shermans, and don't really have a good role in the T4 building. I'm not saying its a bad thing that the E8 is tech locked (hell, I never use the commander so whatever), but the E8 should have a role in its new location.

But the thing is, they do that because they can. Now that E8 is behind T4, I don't see many people really using it. Base Sherman and Jackson are just more efficient. We are talking about the new patch, right? I quite clearly said "major tier"

E8 currently has the role of a generalist tank, in a tier that already has a good generalist for 30 fu cheaper and a specialist TD for 15 fu less. Its extra armor gives it the chance to RNG bounce, but not be a reliable way to tank damage.

The E8 should either be cheaper, or should get its armor traded for HP IMO.

Everyone wants an Easy Eight for the cost of an M4C despite the Easy Eight being superior in every way except reload speed. Maybe it'd be better to just replace the Easy Eight with the 76mm Sherman if everyone's gonna complain about it.

M4C doesn't require tech.

Just saying.

I'm not bothered by that, unlike the T-34/85 or E8, the M4C isn't an advanced Medium, it's only slightly above average.

Besides it strikes me as odd that the US don't use any 76mm Shermans, except the rare late-war version which is inexplicably superior to the M4C despite the main upgrade being the suspension :p

Last time I checked the E8 is now in the major tier :snfBarton:

The E8 has the role of an upgunned sherman, it completely wipes the floor with the Ost and OKW PIV's thanks to the added armour and penetration which the regular sherman struggles to do. Nothing to do with rng here, it does that quite consistently.

It was already overperfoming for the cost which is why it was upped in price shortly after WFA release. Go read the old threads if you struggle to understand why making the E8 even cheaper is a bad idea.

Sometimes reading threads like these makes me wonder if some of these "strategists" actually play the game :snfPeter:

The only armour change from 1943/44 T34s to T34-85s was thicker turrets up to 90mm. Hull armour was the same 45mm as the 1941 era T34's. (there were limited run factory up armour hull kits for the 76mm armed T34s but it was decided it'd be better to have the larger turret and 85mm gun than upgrading the hull armour)

Sherman's had thicker (always sloped) frontal Hull (54mm-108) and turret armour 76mm in the continuous upgrades that resulted in the M4A3E8 W 64-108mm front hull and 64mm overlaid with a 89mm mantlet.
Sherman had thicker armour on the front but thinner side armour. With the wet stowage upgrades it burned less after penetrations than T34's, PIV, and Panthers meaning less dead crew members.

Note that in Soviet service M4A2 were eventually concentrated in elite/proven formations such as 1st Guards Mechanized Corps, 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps, and 9th Guards Mechanized Corps. Not exactly indicative as being regarded as bottom of the barrel equipment for "penal" or "green" corps units.

Hmm. Touche.

Sadly this forum has turned into a Buff Axis Yay, Buff Allies- nay. An m3 halftrack with more hp would hurt anyone.

So buff the HP of the 250 halftracks first? They have 240HP now. The M3 has 320HP. You want to buff it ? No.

Truth be told it should be 140 but has the ability to load APCR high pen long range low damage or even White Phosphorus Shells, something unique that makes it a bit more of a nice tank to have.
