With the recent announcement of the brits as well as PCGamers suggestion for a f2p model for coh, it doesn't sound like that poor of an idea.

How would you feel if coh went f2p? The game is already looking like its being built for it but I want to hear your opinion on it.

My opinion: GTFO, i dont want a game full of xX360swaggerinoQS xXx haxxors.

Allways happens to f2p games, no one cares, so why not hack the shit out of it. or it goes p2win

Hell no, maphacking would ruin CoH.

For this reason coh2 should never go F2P.

Also, if it did, it would need to be monetized.

With consumables that would force dedicated players to buy them, basically giving coh2 a subscription.

Come on, there is no F2P game that is free to play, you can't be that naive.

Even in TF2 you need to open boxed to get best weapons.

Will people please stop bringing this up EVERY time we get a new announcement from Relic. This is a terrible idea.

Yeah let's make CoH2 F2P, that way instead of just wasting money on commanders that drop a week after purchase I can waste money on the whole game as well only to have it drop a year after purchase.

Woohoo, war spoils!

I don't like the idea of f2p, but the steam forums always come up with a bunch of threads of "I can't purchase the base game." and such to that effect whenever a sale comes through. With that in mind, I would like to see CoH2 be free, if it were done the way I'm describing below (that is to say: Not a f2p model at all.)

If CoH2 itself were a free download, with a single skirmish map available (like the CoH demo had done) to test the game, mechanics, and the performance on one's machine, I'd get behind that. Then all of the modules (CoH2 the base game, WFA, AA, and soon the Brits) could be purchased as DLC for this CoH2 platform-game-application thing. This is mostly to make it easier for people who purchase not-CoH2 first to then purchase CoH2 without the headache that the current setup has been giving.

It's too late for CoH 2 to be free to play. It works as if it is free to play enough already without screwing all the people who paid loads for it over by making it free now. Now obviously they would have to give people who paid everything when it went free, but it's still too late. Too expansions in now and free to play would just piss off the community that still exists.

Yes my investment will be well suited to a sudden F2P situation. No thanks, next topic.

if the playerbase will drop further maybe... but not atm.
Also the release of the brits will get Coh2 some more players at least.

I would love to see this game become a F2P title, if done correctly. An increase of the playerbase is what this game needs.

No, CoH2 is already a shambling monstrosity of conflicting design philosophies, monetisation strategies and managerial mind changing.

I'm not opposed to CoH3 being the "good" kind of F2P, the kind where all microtransactions are cosmetic. However I doubt Sega is interested in that kind of thing.

I doubt the game's gone long enough to make the switch like that not piss off many people who just paid money for the game's stuff. TF2 went F2P 4 years after initial release, with nothing else to pay for save the game itself. Neither has been the case for CoH2.

Before going F2P, i guess they need a revamp on the whole Warspoils thingy and making several commanders attractive instead of the usual 3 or 4.

It wouldn´t be fair to those who enter here more than 60 € (40 game , 20 expansion , 10 briths , some commaders , maybe ardenes , even when we take it with some discount on some part it will be more than 30 - 40 €)

And there can be maphack so NO
