Camouflage for Snipers

I have an idea how to make perfectly worked camouflage for Snipers

It would work same way as in CoH1, you have to activate it (without it he would never cloaked)

Move speed would be reduced ofc, all depends on cover

Let's say that Sniper without camo moves at speed 1.0
- When in green cover - move speed 0.65, detection radius - 5m. Sniper would stand still
- yellow cover - move speed 0.45, detection radius - 6m. Sniper would move in crouch mode
- no cover - move speed 0.35, detection radius - 7m. Sniper is now in crawl mode
- red cover - move speed 0.25, detection radius - 8m. Sniper again is in crawl mode

Also all covers would depend on how quickly Sniper would get back to camo after firing a shot

why would anyone want to change current sniper system? It would lead to sniper spam becoming viable strat again. Why would Barton come with sucha an idea...oh wait...

lol, it's just.... snipers are lame now, they have 40HP while all other inf units have 80HP, they are completely EZ to get killed or CS'ed unless you are camping in cover which is rare

This camo thing would give another Strategy possibilities because you would also use Sniper as a scout, not a camping long range unit

I already do that, and most of the time my snipers survive long enough to get more than 20 kills. Maybe Relic should include a sniper tutorial? ;)

The camo works fine now but the 2 vs 1 man sniper is a bigger problem.

Possible fixes

-Russian "escort" retreats off the map when the guy w/ scoped rifle is killed
-German sniper has some sort of fast reload ability to get two shots off in quick succession

Since Ostheer snipers have the ability to be camoed much more often, it's not that hard to stalk soviet snipers with your own sniper and kill 1 man. Yea it's really hard to finish them off but you can shoot at max range and back off and there's no way you can get countersniped. If he has two sniper squads just shoot at the one closer to you from max range and back off.

i dont want any changes to sniper just PLEASE MAKE RUSSIAN SNIPER ONE MAN/WOMAN ITS SO STUPID TO GET 2 vs 1 :( i counter snipe one man of soviet sniper the remaining one grabs the rifle and counters my sniper back this is so stupid the only way to survive it is to have ur axis sniper at a very good distance which is still BS and unbalanced

The spotter rifle shouldn't have criticals against other Snipers OH WAIT we have no more target or critical tables :(

Also when in cover, the German sniper re-camoes after a shot faster than a Soviet sniper can aim at him, so if you countersnipe one member of the squad you can kill the second member from the same position, unless he retreats or gets in cover to camo.

You just need to give some more attention and LOVE to your little Hans :wub:

I really like your idea barton, the snipers don't seem an effective choice only to mess with your opponents head at the moment.

Ostheer Sniper is crap.

Doesnt synch with Ostheer play at all, and is categorically countered by just about every unit on the Sov roster.

I often see this " if you micro your stuff or do something special you will win, this is not op " BUT the problem is exactly that : you have to do something more than the opponent to beat him, you have to manage more, to get the same effect : this is exactly the definition of and op thing
