yeah. the german paks are very weak with the green cover removed
Maybe doesn't count but: for a few games now, I've used Jäger Armor + 3 pak penetration bulletins. Park a P4 with the scope upgrade a little bit ahead of your paks (I typically get two); the tank provides LoS and anti-infantry protection for the paks, and the AT guns melt Allies' tanks. Not sure how often they bounce on the IS2s, but if you get a side/rear shot, you're gravy.
I think the +pen bulletins stack.

You want a T-34 ace? Get a T-34 to vet 3.
The Tiger ace isn´t that much better than a vet 3 Tiger ingame. Some abilities, different cost and some better accuracy iirc.
For the realism discussion: "Best" (which is the most subjective term) German tank would be the StuG imo. Most produced, best availability, most kills, low profile, low cost, reasonable reliability.

Concept of Ace tank (concept, not exact CoH2 implementation) is fun for both sides: one get strong tank which win all 1v1 but should be used carefully, other get an ultimate enemy which need to be taken down with wolf pack of mediums or something like that.
But! There are many way how to implement it ugly.
They should make StuG Ace! *crosses fingers*
For a long time Iv thought that the PIV's in Elite Armored should come in both with Vet 5 but give the same negative (but a bit less) effects as the Tiger Ace does.
Game could use more ace/veteran units, and by that I mean both sides.

If we're going to have OH with Tiger Aces, when do Soviets get a Noble Sniper?
Be careful what you wish for...
(quick wikipedia search reveals top German sniper had 350, top Soviet one is over 500...)

-Combination of MGs giving exact DPS as having a gunner
-Vision (?)
-1280HP (240 more HP)
-Smoke, Blitz and Triple tap (TWP)
-Vet3 stats

ACE concept for Axis tank is just a lol idea, what's an ACE tank that is by fact better than all its counter part during 2 years, Sherman and T34.
Are you an ACE because you shot many tanks from 2400 meters to 700 meters with no fear to be destroyed yourself.
It is like being considered as an ACE because you kill many people with any modern semi-auto rifle with scope + full kevlar armor vs naked people with glock.
I can understand the concept of ACE for Air pilot since planes were pretty equals but not for tanks.
Wittman has been killed with 2 or 3 other tanks of his bataillon by a single firefly in an ambush...
A single firefly? Are you sure. I read he drove straight into a firefly/ AT ambush. And you do know alot of Whittmans kills came from a StuG III + Panzer III dont you? He wasn't driving a Tiger until late 43.
As for the Ace, you could make the same statement for the superior Soviet snipers in game.. Or Guards rifles for that matter..
Silly boy.

Which make no sense in the context of the game because they cost exactly the same and have exactly the same rolls. Nor would it make any historical sense because the IS2 wasn't created to fight enemy tanks.
I'd really like to contribute but why do you insist to write roll instead of role

Permanently BannedAlota german armored steel beats everything, cherry picking on historical facts, good/bad ideas, forgotten dreams and no fun allowed going on in this thread.
Nah its just people will fight to the death to the point that they'll end up saying shermans were superior when going head to head with tigers and panthers. They will fight tooth and nail than say that a german tank did better vs an allied tank. Its all myths and nazi propaganda supposedly.

Hello
These are all very badly informed posts. Modern age propaganda like tankarchives.blogspot poison peoples minds.
Back on topic, the IS 2 has no problem killing infantry. It really is overperforming for it's cost.

Nice strawman!Numbers and actual data says otherwise

Reason Why we say its all myths is because pretty much all of your "sources" are just unverified claims and personel accounts made by the Germans namely SS PanzerBrigades; who were so notorious for inflating their kill claims even oberkommand didnt take them seriously.

And the SS were all honorable men of integrity right? If Tank Archives and other sources are so wrong apparently then please by all means point me to true legit sources?
"At the end of two weeks of fighting, the Panther regiments in the Ardennes were shattered, losing about 180 tanks or 43 percent of the starting force of about 415 Panthers. Of the remaining 235 Panthers, only 45 percent were operational, and the remaining 55 percent were dead-line with mechanical problems or battle damage. In the case of the US First Army, which bore the brunt of the Ardennes fighting, by the end of December in had lost about 320 Sherman tanks of which about 90 were M4A1/A3 (76mm), equivalent to about one-quarter of its average daily strength that month. Due to continual reinforcements, First Army had about 1,085 Shermans on hand at the end of December 1944 with about 980 operational and only 9 percent deadline with mechanical problems or battle damage."

There was a Soviet commander in testing that called in four vet 3 T34/85's at once.a It had Guards, Mark Vehicle, an ability to make all tanks go faster for a while, as well as call in uber crappy T34/76 meat shields.
There is a reason why Relic did not expand "ace" units beyond TA... They lacked a special characteristic "balance" within them...

Nobody has been speaking about the Panther. This is a thread about the Is 2 and the Tiger Ace.
But let's inspect some claims made:
(wall of text)
tl;dr it's badly made up and cherrypicked, refuted many times by many people.
Oh and also the Tiger ace is simply a bad concept.
