Reposted from a post I made on one of Dane's videos:
The thing is, I'm not convinced that it's the British that are coming. People are focusing on the avre file names and extensions...they seem to be forgetting that it was fired via a button ability, much like a certain other unit now found in CoH2 that fires via a '-poot-....BANG' principle...namely, one starting with 'Sturm' and ending in 'tiger'. In any event, a new German faction would be...questionable. Relic sort of screwed the pooch in giving the OKW all the cool toys

Eh... it's pretty much confirmed that it's gonna be Brits.
Besides the file names (which by the way also explicitly include the term "British Commander Starter Pack") I can think of the following hints:
- Churchill posters hung demonstratively on the walls in Relics' streams
- The icon for the new faction on the roadmap is a Tommy helmet.
- The registration for the new alpha includes the phase "By Jove" which has a British origin.
..and there are probably even more, that I forgot.

It also won't be anything axis related, because Italians army, infantry and armor would redefine word "underpowered" and Afrika Korps won't work as OKW and wehr made sure there is nothing that can be done to make new axis faction without copy pasting existing ones.
That leaves brits/commnwealth.

Axis still has a large variety of vehicles and infantry left that could be implemented, all that is left is to come up with reasonable faction mechanics.

There´s actually enough stuff for a new German faction that is up to date in 1944/45. No prototypes or early war junk needed.
Yes, but thats all prototypes, single models, extreme specialists or early war junk.
Nothing that would not be obliterated by stock soviet units really, but I can't deny I'd like to see army centered around light vehicles and lighter tanks(P3s and shit) with lightly armored TD support for AT.

OKW will be getting new doctrines to go alongside the British faction from what we can tell. The new content may be themed in some way to go alongside this, potentially something like Italian support if the British are supposed to be fighting in Italy. I'm not really expecting that, but it's possible. At any rate, they will likely include some new units for Axis.New commanders for both US and OKW would be good, but Wehr should probably get some new commanders as well to be fair if allies get Brtis.

Hetzer - partly better armored than a StuG and with a remote controlled MG on top.
Nashorn - Elefant gun on Panzer IV chassis.
Jagdpanther - Elefant gun on Panther chassis.
Nebelwerfer - a classic.
Panzer III Ausf. N - by 1944 this was used to fight off infantry with 80mm armor and a stubby 75mm gun.
Wirbelwind - Panzer IV chassis with quadruple flak.
88mm Flak 36 - a classic.
Hummel/ Wespe - An equivalent to the 152mm on tracks, 105mm Priest respectively.
Jagdpanzer IV/ L48 - Similar to the StuG. Worse gun and slightly less armor than the current L/70 variant.
Most of this stuff would still perform better than allied stuff. Don´t act like there´s nothing left.

So now that UKF is a confirmed name for the confirmed single coming faction, we can bury this 'it's not the brits' hatchet for good, right?
And I can have a wet dream about getting a tortoise with HE/HVAP toggle?
