Nah, that wasn't Ruins, there was another 1v1 map that was on an airfield at night. It was huge. And wide open. And terrible.

Some of the SNF4 maps (eg Argentan Crossroads) could be good additions; Crossing in the Woods is already there. Sturzdorf could be OK or a less chokepoint-y edition of Wrecked Train. I only ever played 1v1 in COH1, so I don't actually have any experience of the team maps :P

I'm glad that the map team at Relic has been willing to tinker with some of the old COH1 maps. I like the small gap in the hedge by the VP on Langres, for example. Curious to see more of Angoville, but I noticed some changes in the single game I've played on it.

This is why you encourage your Mapmakers! :)

I can say there are plans afoot, which will hopefully involve Strategists in testing adapted maps; it is in the planning stages right now, so it may be 2-3 months before you see an outcome.

We could put up a poll here, if you wish.

Ruins of Ruen?

It was an automatch map I think but I think too many thought it was too US friendly.

Yay! for more community involvement!

And yeah, you nailed it. It was Ruen, much like Dumont, I don't think it was a particularly good map, but they seemed to flow well and were nice to look at.

Is there anything from the single player/tow that could be used in automatch? There were a lot of cheers when General Mud was added.

NOT SEMOISKY, god, take it away, please.

What was called the 2v2 pretty big one with a lot of hedges? That one was nice.

The scheldt, Lyon, Hochwald cap, Achelous river...those were the maps that tested the true "skill" of the players! ( i think COH 2 needs those maps to bring back the nostalgia of COH 1. Keepo)

I sure hope you're being sarcastic. All the lame camper maps with bridges :p.

Redball Express, Montargis Region and Wolfheze were always my favourites. Balanced and yet diverse. Drekplaats was also pretty interesting. Lorraine was perfect for COH 1. Not to sure how it would fit into COH 2 because its just so close quarters which as we all know heavily favors allies. Duclair was good. Also King of the hill was alright. It was ALWAYS a fight for the bottom points where 80% of the resources were.

From the good old OF days I miss ruins of rouen.
Generally I really miss those 'industrial' style of maps where you fight in a harbour or a industrial complex.
CoH2 is more about landscape fights I guess.

So, the poll might be:-

1v1
  • Ruins of Rouen
  • Wrecked Train
  • Strurzdorf
  • Argentan Crossroads
  • Verrieres Ridge
  • Beach Assault
  • St Mere Dumont

2v2
  • Wolfheze
  • McGaechens War
  • Lyon
  • Lorraine
  • Gilroys Harbour

3v3
  • Redball Express
  • Vimoutiers
  • S....s...s...s...Scheldt

4v4
  • Route N13
  • Montargis
  • Steel Pact
  • Hochwald Gap
  • Achelous River
  • Linden

I will leave it a couple of hours, in case there are any other last minute additions. I have not included Duclair, since that map has already been adapted.

Probably Sturzdorf, Lorraine, Duclair, and for 3v3 Vimoutiers.

Lorraine & Vimoutiers - pretty please?

Wasn't Lyon a 2v2 map? At least when I played it in automatch, it was always 2v2.

I'll happily take your word for it - when I checked back in vCoH just now, it seemed to suggest (2) as in 1v1 !!
