“There are lots of big plan for the franchise in 2015 and beyond, and we’re excited to head in the direction that the fans are asking us to go in.”

“There’s an ongoing relationship we’ve established with the ESL, and we’ll be working - this year - to create a tournament,” Wilson tells me. “Look for big things from Company of Heroes 2 and ESL partnership in 2015.

“Tying that back into some of the features we’ve released, we specifically released our observer mode to help support things like tournaments and casting, and sort of empower our community,” he continues. “We’ve got this really passionate community that have even taken the time to create their own tournaments. They’ve generated their own prize money, sometimes. So it’s really just about trying to give that community an opportunity to express themselves, and also to share with the world the great game they’ve helped to build.”

(Blame Low0dds for this thread)

What ever that may mean and look like in the end.

If that's what the company needs to do to stay afloat, I'm fine with it. Better than the game dying outright.

Company need our money, so they release new Single stuff for noobs, compstompers etc (like AA) just to get money, chance for CoH2 becoming an #esports is 0% (well, maybe a little more since PQ left) so relic must relize that their game has really good potential for great game but they fail cuz they prefer to release stuff for $$$.

Game will die in 1 or 2 years if they keep doing this

I'm going to have to agree with Barton, if they want COH2 to last they are going to need to switch gears to being a lot more MP focused.

Yes since most of our players play comp stomp we will be spending a million dollars improving AI this year!!!

We will release a special Mountain Dew edition for a game code that will grant your Tiger the Bling Bling skin and your Grens can be outfitted in clown suits!

This is more likely then massive improvements to multiplayer. Of course they could go another route. And realize 4v4 is the most popular game mode and decide to balance around it. Add a bunch of new 3v3 and 4v4 maps....also a GREAT idea....

Do you think Dota 2 esports players care about cosmetic costumes?
Do you think Counter Strike esports players care about gun skins?

If making mountain dew skins for 4v4 scrubs allows them to hire more balance designers, I'm all for it.

PQ left? How do you know that?

I agree that this game is on its deathbed. Haven't touched it in a month or so, maybe more. The chances of it getting a stable MP playerbase are tiny at this point. The ship has sailed.

5v5 MOBAS on peak of popularity, while whole RTS genre is dying, yet Relic decided to forget about 4v4 catastrophic imbalance since kubel buff for the sake of 1v1 which is least popular MP mode. At least 4v4 scrubs like myself could watch some tourneys before playerbase shrinks back to 1k. And Relic will get their desired ESL partnership. Maybe.

The only way 4v4 could come anywhere near balance is if modified factions were created for it, in 3v3 or 4v4 instead of taking the standard versions, you would receive an 'alternative' version that has higher teching costs, slower unit construction, punishing anti-blob measures, and unit caps. Some units or abilities would also be disabled, and resource points would give 2/3 their normal output.

Sure you might be playing Ostheer, but you can't use Luftwaffe Supply Doctrine, and you're limited to one Tiger at a time, also T4 is painfully expensive and you can't build fuel caches.

VonIvan didn't really sum anything. The usual gifs/youtube videos with little purpose.

But we need more USF heavy tank skins!
