Just wanted to bring some good news to this tired community. Lately when I have been online there have been +10 000 players. In case of numbers the gain isnt that much but in december 2013 the average was 3.100 and in december 2014 5.200, thats almost... the double.

+ A bit better matchmaking.
- More Okw-players

It's because of the sales, Im not saying someone won't stay, but expect atleast half of those to leave by the time they are finished with the campaing.

Yeah, it's because of the sales, coh2 was 75% off on steam a couple of times. I hope lots of people stay but its also up to Relic to keep updating the game and adding new content to keep people playing.

It's also up to us to make sure they enjoy it when they try multiplayer. Fume in silence when relic teams you with a lvl 8.

I think it's much worse experience for 'lvl 8' getting into game with experienced players. Imagine frustration of getting wiped out after few minutes without being able to do anything.

Relic your 10 game = no rank is rubbish.

It Equals to 40 games of torment for person who bought COH2 and wants to have fun playing MP and frustration for everyone else........

How many will stay? Not many IMHO

I would probably get fed up after 10-15 games and just play something else.......

75% discount on CoH2 caused some ww2 fanatics to buy it and they play it during this free time and prob 50% will leave this game for good i think, the rest will be compstomps

they trick is to not bash new players in team games that you meet in game so they'll want to stay and keep playing.

Even if the teammates shut up they still see how they got roflstomped by the other team in a seemingly unopposable manner... it's usually a turn-off for gamers.

Getting roflstomped by veterans isn't good, but it doesn't chase everyone away. In a MOBA any new player will utterly destroyed for weeks before they start to get good, and they're one of the most popular games on the market.

Right, COH2 doesn't fall into that category tho. Where people will get roflstomped for weeks because they wanna play game that's really popular. (well most wont anyway)

Haven't played MOBA but I would assume they have more players therefore more balanced game?

not much incentive to play, lvls are absolutely useless, no sense of progression, war spoils = 10 duplicate faceplates lol

it'll also be a short while for them to realize that Axis > Allies in team games...

I doubt the new players can handle these truths as well as most of us here.
