Even after the nerf the KV-8 is still as effective than both the Flame Half-Track's flamethrowers combined, which are stronger than the all individual flamethrowers used by any Infantry units.
That is to be expected as it is a 145 fuel unit, still it isn't worth it.

I think some people need to act less idiotic with their tanks by not driving them straight into dedicated AT units. That said the kv-8 needs more range. i suggest we start slowly on this one and ad + 5 range

Dedicated AT units? You mean like shreck infantry? Because if it can't counter those, then what's the point?

They both counter each other. Your line of thought is the reason why so many allied players noob move their kv8 straight into okw lines without support. it then gets isolated and killed.

on the defensive i would use the kv8 to pick off overextended axis squads . on the offensive this units can be the most devastating flanking tank in the game provided you identify and locate all the AT in the area. use your infantry to scout out en put them into a good position.

The KV-8 should have same health and armor as a KV-1 as well as having either much higher range or AoE. In the current blob meta a flame tank should be amazing, but right now it just under preforms so limply.

I believe a lot of people are basing a KV-8 buff on just how it performs against OKW Shrek blobs; but do consider what such buffs would do to the tank versus Ostheer?

LMG Grens can faust KV-8, but that just slows it and Pak40 fires more slowly now and the crew doesn't get cover from its shield so KV-8 can roll up and burn it out.

While a buff to KV-8 would make it decent against OKW, it has a good chance of making it OP versus Ostheer.

Which once again goes to show how tough it is to balance this game, buff a unit that is weak against one faction and make it broken against the other faction.

Dont forget that Ostheer has tanks before Tiger. In the current meta it could be strong between 9 and 11 cps against ostheer. But in reality, besides the meta, Ostheer can produce tanks to counter it.

Not to mention you can have PGs with double shreks to finish KV-8 after faust.

Right, but aren't a lot of people in this thread just comparing it against Volk/Shrek blob? So comparing it against just LMG Grens or a single Pak 40, I give it to the KV-8.

If you want to talk about with tank support then the KV-8 will most likely have Zis Support and AT Nade Cons so then it becomes a combined arms argument.

My point is I think the KV-8 does fine against the Ostheer right now and poorly against OKW. But buffing its range just because of the OKW match-up could lead to unfair results agsint the Ostheer match-up.

The true problem is, once again, Volk Shrek blobs are too good.

I think the perceived imbalance for ostheer would be circumvented by buffing the kv8 front armor value to 300 or so.

Would help with bouncing shrecks, and still allow grens to penetrate from behind with a faust, as well as not having a significant impact on the utility of paks

My proposition is is to change its damage back to previous level and reduce its speed and acceleration to crawl. I might be wrong, but I recall most of the complaints came from it chasing down retreating squads and rushing bases circling around buildings to avoid damage.

It would be toast (get it? KV8? toast? fire? LOL) in case of an engine damage happening.
