'Random Army' Button

Come on, it can't be too hard to implement that feature. Coh1 had it. Why not Coh2?
I'm really happy just playing any army, I don't want to play only one. (You could say: 'Okay, just choose another army every game.' but it is not the same as being surprised which army to play).
Additionally (and maybe most importantly): You or your team can play against any Faction. So the waiting time should decrease.

That feature in coh1 was good, when i was unsure what i wanted to play as, i just picked random and played with factions i hadn't had much experience before ( OF Factions ). Got me into playing more PE and i got better in the game overall. I don't play soviets in coh2 cause the faction doesn't appeal to me, but if i would get it with random pick, i would have no other choice than to try and win, who knows, maybe even start to like the faction.
You can simply pick up SU and launch the game
Taking SU with random its just fooling yourself.

How do you think this will play into the party system that coh2 multi is built around? I is it going to roll a random army for the side your teamate picked? Is it only applicable in 1v1? Only applicable when your the only one in a party? This isn't something easy to put in. How about you assign an army to 4 numbers, find an rng online, set the range to be those 4 numbers, then roll it before you choose your army? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the feature, I just don't see how it can be implemented in game.
I dont see the problem. First if everyone on your team has choosen the "random" faction, then the game first chosses one of the two factions for you (allies or Axis) and then it chosses a random nation for you. Should be pretty easy!
And if one of your teammates has choosen russians then you only get a random allied nation. Should be a pretty easy feature o0

Are u kidding me? They done it in vCoH, in 2006, and that feature was great. Even i can create program that will choose random number between 1-4, now assign every faction a number and that's it. OFC that u can't choose random if u have a teammate who selected a specific faction.
This is simplicity itself, amount of stupid sh*t to read here amuse me!

"Just play allies. Throw a coin and play that faction". Because the times it would put you as axis is so low (unless 1v1 and one in a blue moon 2v2).
Random army should come also with random commanders, even if you don't own them. That would be interesting.

You can't be changing your inventory while in queue, so everything has to be pre-set before clicking queue. Which means having a "random faction" choice is useless because u'd have to stop and choose a inventory setup before pressing "search".
It's not difficult to see why not, really....

The problem with the "random" faction is due to how the ladder queue system works with your bulletins/inventory.

So you could just set up a loadout for all your armies in the customizer before you start a search... if you didn't do it and choose random you get whatever layout you had for that army last time. This is no issue at all.

I know, I keep repeating myself, but it is, truely, a matter which is quite dear to me: the random army button.

Yes, it's a greatly needed option.

I agree.
Clicking 'RANDOM' on vCoH invariably meant you got copped with Britz....not difficult to see why. Nobody else wanted to play them.
Judging from the responses here, those advocating any army are welcome to their choice.....just don't come bitching onto the Balance forum if it all goes tits up for you.....

I want it! It's a good thing to have.
Good luck with that (Please don't come back here raging, if you cop the weakest Army time after time - I'm sure you will not )
