Combat Engineers

This unit was unintentionally improved in the last update as it shares the same weapon as a Conscript squad. We created a unique weapon for this unit and brought its stats back to where they were. This places the performance of this unit back to where it was.

Now use a unique version of the Mosin Nagant rifle

Manpower cost from 180 to 170

Not upset at all, just find it funny to nerf units literally no one complains about

combat engineers were semi-viable combat troops, at least in 1v1.

Clearly this was unacceptable :D

Clearly Relic was not okay with the 4-6 combat engineer builds that were spawning.

They certainly scale better with BARs now. Initially though, I doubt it even with their lower cost.

I don't blame 'em, if Pioneers can't be as strong as main infantry, then why can Engineers? Now they're both inferior to their infantry counterparts. The difference in DPS compared to the old rifle isn't even big, it's 1-3 less for the most part.

It was always 21.

if they only changed things people complained about you know how many OP things would still be in the game. :)

Engineers never were as strong as main infantry, since they're a 4 man squad compared to the standard Russian 6 man squad. I'd much rather have a pioneer than an engineer in most fights. That said I don't really care about the nerf :P

Next I hope they will nerf SU-76. Only redxwings will care, everyone else shrug shoulders and chuckle. :D

This reminds me of the accidental T34/76 reload buff they gave that no one ever complained about. Just leave it in!

I'm glad they're focusing on the important issues instead of nerfing the Walking Stuka or Obers or something like that. Now if only Penals and Conscripts could get nerfed too we'll be on the right track.

Not always, in times long forgotten they were 25 manpower to reinforce.

Sooo with the reae ehcos reloading after 14s do they better in combat than engis? (No bar, need to know beacuse: I need engis to near combat with Tank Hunter commander and I build rears instead of riflemen.)

No I think that would be Irregulars. That aside, Engineers and Pioneers are not intended to be primary combat units like Sturmpioneers.

01 Apr 2025, 02:36 AM
Willy Pete: @Rosbone Ahh I missed that memo. I still think its a bad decision though. Adds frustration for players and isnt gonna make them that much money
27 Mar 2025, 15:46 PM
Rosbone: It is also good they left it free until after the free to play weekend. Points for that.
27 Mar 2025, 09:34 AM
Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
27 Mar 2025, 09:32 AM
Rosbone: To be fair, it was a thank you to early fans right? They said it was not free for long and it would become a pay DLC at some point.

Willy Pete: Re-releasing free DLC so they can charge new players money for it. Brilliant marketing strategy
