QUestion for those players who suggest getting t70 for Luchs: If the T70 a good investment? I am worried that it will be chewed up by schreck volks and Pumas.

T70 also wrecks the inevitable obersoldaten and is great for killing retreating squads. Just don't get a damaged engine or you can kiss it goodbye ;)

Mines, mines, mines! I usually play shock rifle against okw and you end up with a lot of muni's kicking around. Once it hits a mine he will pull back to repair and think twice about rushing it in. Just be jonny on the spot with a follow up Zis shot or an at nade. If you know the luchs is coming just plant mines everywhere it will probably rush, then it will force sweepers or turn it into a harrassment unit buying you time for T3 or call ins.

I think the reason people have different experiences with Luchs/T70 is the range of the engagement. T70 wins at range but the Luchs can penetrate ok if it gets in close.

T70 beats Luchs since T70 has a 45mm gun which reliably kills a Luchs while the last has just 20mm auto-cannon (much same as armored car) which is unable to deal significant damage to a T70.

I think its kinda like facing a KV8 in terms of teck choice.

You know he went T4, the only anti armour in that building is panther which is significantly delayed after a luchs (it was already late).

So you know his only AT is volks and possibly a rakketen.

Try to counter his inf to make the luchs useless. Focus one or two of the shrek squads down and go in with your own AI vehicle. Try to be quick before he has 4-5 shreks.

Lately I got quite lucky in killing fast Luchs with the Soviet 45-mm antitank gun. But if you use one of those commanders that have this gun, you are probably faced with more disadvantages than advantages later on. But usely OKW players get quite puzzled when I use those.

How about using Anti inf commander if you see a fast luchs. Grab your own fast KV8, you shoukdnt need to worry about armour.

Try to take out his volks, use fear prop and flame arty to assist the kv8. He will be powerless to stop ur kv8 if you can take that inf out.

T70 is good in killing Luchs tanks but you have to remember that it has to fight it with its frontal armour, rear armour of t70 is so weak it can be quite easily killed even by 222.

Well the 222 has the same gun as the Luchs

Sure it has, but it also has much less durability so it has less chances of winning with t70 while shooting in rear armour than luchs.

I always have good results with putting guards in a building. The OKW players typically overestimate the Luchs' ability to kill the garrisoned guards, and the PTRS packs a punch against its light armor.

Semi-related question –– do guards/all units fire/reload faster while garrisoned?
