Honestly, this poor thing really needs a buff. You pay 40 fuel and you get a completely useless vehicle that can't hit for shit even at very close range.

It just needs a buff, it never hits.

Yeah, the regular fire mode is really inaccurate. The flammable shot seems alright.

Yeah I always try and use it for getting rid of pesky forward HQs of OKW but thing just blows, can't stand wasting fuel on it anymore.

I remember one match where i shelled the OKW with the mortar HT for a good portion of the match. It got one kill and i never bothered to buy it again.

Yea this vehicle sucks, don't waste the fuel on it. So does the pack howitzer but for some reason the infantry support gun is pretty good.

I've used in a couple of matches now and was able to keep it alive for the entire game or almost. The furtherst I got was vet 1 with really aggressive play, use of the barrage ability and the phosphorous barrage. The short range, shorter than that of a mortar, and the abysmal accuracy make this unit the worst indirect fire unit in the game.

I don't think this is by design or intended. I imagine that there might be a bug in the stats of the unit.

If an ostruppen squad was 200mp/40fu, I would still prefer getting an Osttruppen squad over the US mortar halftrack.

I tried to counterbarrage the Ostheer mortar crew with this halftrack. I ended up with a dead halftrack and a nearly full health mortar crew on the other end.

Looked at the stats and I think I know why it sucks. The US Mortars have the highest scatter of any mortar-type unit in the game. Their accuracy is even worse than the Soviet 120mm Mortar, and the Pack Howitzer is about the second worst.

Another problem is the short range, the Pack Howitzer only has the range of a normal Mortar (80) while the ISG and 120mm have 100 Range. The MHT has a range of 60, 20 meters less than a normal mortar.

Best solution would be to tighten the spread a little and increase the range of each by 20 to properly match their counterparts.

Much more accurate, slower rate of fire, 20 more range (80 vs 60).

@Mr. Someguy, thanks for taking a look into the unit stats. I don't think that is intentional. Let's hope Relic will take notice and will address this.
