The fg42 was always used scoped. Probably no armor, high cost to deploy, and a high reinforce cost. The thing is, it does everything; it has a bundled nade for displacing units in cover, panzerfaust for stalling armored units, and a toxic smoke grenade to deny cover and block LoS. It also does not have the panzergrenadier problem - if a conscript squad charges an fallshirms and they are both in no cover, the falshirmjagers, in theory, should demolish the conscripts before they get close to damage it, and the fallshirmjagers should suffer no losses. fg42's should have stg44 dps at a much longer range.

Yes ur right, because it can dmg from long range it won't have as much trouble as pzgren.
But same armor as a gren model?Maybe more health instead of armor.

I am looking from 1 vs 1 perspective.

Obtained changelog. It's got really interesting things in it. Especially numbers.

They are paratroopers, not juggarnauts. No armor and same health as all infantry models.

Just remember the Alpha is under NDA, and this thread is clearly featuring some people breaking it.

The NDA extends past the end of Alpha, so just because it's almost over doesn't mean it can be talked about.

There could be legal consequences for breaking the NDA. It also means that these sorts of things are harder for us to do, if it's obvious that a portion of the community are unable to keep their word.

I think the Alpha was great for the game. It would be a shame if we can't do another one because of continued leaks.

Most everyone has been excellent and great about it. So don't ruin it for them.

Thanks.

It's quite hard to do because a lot of the time people get false information from somewhere and it's really annoying to see false information being spread and then them saying the expansion is shit because of that information. Not that I ever leaked anything.

It's the same thing with false hopes, like, someone told them that unit is in the epxansion and it actually isn't, and I just don't want it to disappoint people. :(

People need to stop making assumptions about things and taking conclusions too fast, lol.

And as far as I remember Alpha ends in few days. Really good news.

Okay so some confirmation of additional recorded sounds:

-M24 Chaffee
-Hetzer
-Sherman Easy Eight
-M47 Patton (huh??)

The video mistakes the Hetzer for the Jagdpanzer IV.

I don't think it was a "mistake", rather than a stand-in. I can't imagine how hard it is to find functioning WW2 vehicles. It looks like they went to a place that had quite a few, I assume they just didn't have any Jagdpanzer IV's, so they took a similar option.

The M24 Chaffee is certainly interesting though, since it called by name. Possible doctrinal vehicle?

Interesting things you aren't supposed to post in public forums :P

I do not intend to. Noun finally shown himself.
Also it's most likely not last patch to the alpha.

which means even after it ends you still can't post about the game on public forums :P

:D Then there is no difference.o_O I do not understand the point.

thank god the tiger was nerfed. I hate the tiger right now, while its not as broken as ISU-152 or elephant, it is still broken.

The video has been taken to private...? hmmph.

They identified the Hetzer as a Jagdpanzer IV in the video. It may have been the stand-in, of course.

There are functional Jagdpanzer IVs at the Bovington tank museum (UK) I think.

Yep, the M24 may be a doctrinal vehicle. I don't know if it stands in for anything.

http://blogs.companyofheroes.com/2014/06/13/company-of-heroes-2-the-western-front-armies-tank-audio-recording/

Sound of Hetzer is used for the Jagdpanzer IV/70 and the M47 Pershing Sound is used for the german heavys.
Our list was as follows:
•Jagdpanzer 38(t) “Hetzer” – Inline 6 cyl praga engine gasoline
•OT810/Sd.Kfz. 251 ausf Halftrack – 8 cyl Tatra Diesel engine
•M4A3E8 Sherman – V8 Ford GAA gasoline
•M24 Chaffee – 2x 8cyl Cadillac 44T24 gasoline
•M5 Stuart – Continental 7 cyl W-760-9 A radial engine gasoline
•M47 Pershing heavy tank – V8 Twin Continental Twin Turbo gasoline

The Chaffee and Pershing tanks weren’t really vehicles that were going to be in our game but we felt they offered a unique recording opportunity. The Chaffee had twin Cadillac engines which were found in various vehicles in the war and the twin turbo of the Pershing we felt might translate well to some of the heavier German tanks.

No Pershing in the game very disappointed about that.<444>_<444>

They might add it later for DLC.Though i believe because soviets have heavy late game armour..they didn't take that path with americans..basically saying..u want heavies as allies go soviets.
