that Soviet commander is going to be sweet, I do not really like the Guards with PPSH, they do not have any armor and PTRS cannot shoot on the move, it seems like a unit with little purpose. The mobile defense doctrine seems to be well balanced though, I just hope the puma acts like a strong glass cannon like it did in WWII.
They come with an M5 though. It's the perfect doctrine for going T4.

This is really disappointing :(

Relic: Where are the commanders we've been waiting for? Red Banner Division, Collapse the Pocket, Panther Command Tank etc.???

WOW!!! Awesome!!! Free commanders with NEW units! I'm loving it!! I like the ostruppen, sounds like you could get a different degree of weaponry and maybe vet (?) when you call in. Whatever sounds great but says they are released from western front, shouldn't they be volks and not ostruppen since ostruppen fought in the east...

Maybe they were Osttruppen sent to fight on the Western Front, and now they're being called back.

Except that that would make no historical sense.

the soviets got 4000 thousand shermans from USA. Why can't they have one of the more numeruos tanks they had actually be in game?

While there were 1300 tigers, they are present in nearly half of all doctrines.

To understand much of the German design and balance you have to remember that a huge number of the CoH buyers and players and either Nazi fanbois or Wehrmacht fanbois. They have real hardons for the kit of the WWII German army. So if you want to sell them it has to be the things they have come to expect, like Tigers everywhere that never have the problems of the real thing.

That will explain why there are Elephants (only about 60 ever made) and non-doctrinal ostwinds (only 40 were ever made).

Another item in vCOH was the FG-42 (the Fals compact light machine gun). Only some 7,000 were ever built. That is a teeny tiny production by light weapon standards, and it is because the weapon was full of problems when used in the field. But I bet it reappears in COH2, and working as they wished it did and not as it actually did.

By contrast, the US made over 200,000 BARs (A2 model) and gave tens of thousands of A1 models (100,000 made) to Great Britain and other allies as aid in WW2.

Compare that with the opposite often being true of Allied kit. The Sherman was a superbly BUILT tank. And many of the flaws we think were endemic to them were fixed by the time the Shermans were doing battle in France and after. It had high up-time, easy maintenance, and often could be returned to the battlefield easily even after being knocked out. (This latter created its own problems because the crew was often incapacitated, or dead, and a new one would be put together from untrained reinforcements arriving from the US. Untrained troops will not perform well and that will reflect on the statistics of the equipment.)

This is just great thanks Relic :)

One negative side effect is that I will never use any other unit besides the Puma again though...

Both of these doctrines look great! Specifically for 1v1 due to the lower cp requirements for the call-ins. I hope the M5 can be upgraded with a quad like a normal one.

It can but you need T3 or T4 to do so.

The allied supply drop varies but the axis one does not? I think it's good that the plane can be shot down easily, more random massive damage-hits around the map (hopefully the plane always comes from your own base direction).
Guards with PPShs seem... interesting.

Puma have 400hp, 160 dmg something between 4-5s reload time and penetration decent enough to rape T34. All that for 80 fuel and 270mp.

Sherman seems to be T34/85 with pintle MG.

I just complain that the soviets still missing there own Units like KV-85, ISU-122, SU-122 and SU-100 and while all this is still missing we get now american Equipment that already come in june with the USA faction.

WHY MUST IT BE THE SHERMAN?
WHY NOT SU-100 ISU-122 OR KV-85?
WHY?

Model. They have already created a model for Western Front and now just added it. Relic is sooooo lazy.

160 dmg from a 20mm gun? That is just crazy. Unless of course there is no penetration.

Here is another example of game design for the fanbois. Only 100 mk2 pumas (the 50mm) were ever made. Only 200 of the 20mm.
