I think there will be a US faction. And maybe even a Brit one (that DOESN'T look like the one in vCOH).

Those are two markets that are too big too ignore. Throw in some Commonwealth units or commanders and broaden the market appeal. (You could do the same with some Free French and Free Poland forces).

I don't think the Pacific works well. The Japanese military in WWII was an odd mix of a WWII Air Force, a WWII navy and a WWI army. They had seriously outdated equipment. Old and tiny tanks. No Anti-tank weapons that could stop a Sherman. (NONE. The plan was to dig holes in the ground with a 500 lb aerial bomb and a Japanese soldier with a hammer to blow it when a tank rolled over them.)

Their strength was that they were bunkered down. Does anyone really want to fight emplacements?

Still people deluding themselves with americans? You probably expect your fav characters in game of thrones to survive, right?

Concerning that the friday announcement will probably be something big and Noun stated that the next commanders and ToW missions wont come too soon AND since we already know that Relic worked on different commanders (not including a lend-lease one) months ago which probably will be released first, what else should it be?

Furthermore this kind of teasing, as we can see by having this debate, can be very misleading...and is not something I as a developer would do just to promote a future commander dlc. And I bet that the folks are Relic are smarter than me! :D

On the other hand there are no arguments against an american faction.

Battle of the Bulge simply works: Not too much work (compared to the pacific with 2 new factions and they can reuse stuff from vCoH), ColdTech and the US army being quite popular.

It can also be a lend lease commander (since we've seen what appeared to be one in an early video) but considering the facts above that seems odd to me.
Except if Kursk is known for lend-lease US weaponry, since that is going to be the "next ToW-step"...such a DLC would be big enough for this kind of announcement as well.

And what map that may be? If it is Kholodnii, then it's kinda' strange. I don't really think it will be an american faction, I think the game will probably introduce some american weapons. After all, during WW II, Soviet Union was supplied by USA with war machines, amunitions and others through its northern ports, Murmansk and Arhangelsk.

If it's not Kholodnii, and it is some copied map from Coh1, then... it's explainable.... lol....

This sherman wreck is shown on a soviet Union map and with soviet soldiers in the Background so it will be most likely a land lease commander.

What does the soviet soldiers have to do with it? Its not the photo by Relic. The same exact photo can be made by everyone.

The sherman, is a great advance of the 28th. Relic has rewarded their loyal players.

Thanks Relic.

Now, lets put your post against some facts and things we know.

Concerning that the friday announcement will probably be something big and Noun stated that the next commanders and ToW missions wont come too soon AND since we already know that Relic worked on different commanders (not including a lend-lease one) months ago which probably will be released first, what else should it be?

Relic stated there won't be new commanders and ToW THIS MONTH, this is all they have said, nothing more.

We don't know what commanders they were working on, we had a couple of leaks, but there were plenty of other commanders there as well, some with placeholder icons. What makes you believe there was on land lease commander amoungst them? Land lease project existed.
Americans on easten front not.
What do you think we can expect from the game that holds some historical basics?

Furthermore this kind of teasing, as we can see by having this debate, can be very misleading...and is not something I as a developer would do just to promote a future commander dlc. And I bet that the folks are Relic are smarter than me! :D

Its called marketing. Building up huge hype for small things.
Remember mud tech? Much hype. So useful tech. Wow.

On the other hand there are no arguments against an american faction.

Except the historical argument backed up by facts that point out there was not a single american soldier on the eastern front?

Battle of the Bulge simply works: Not too much work (compared to the pacific with 2 new factions and they can reuse stuff from vCoH), ColdTech and the US army being quite popular.

D-day also could work and be easily implemented. That doesn't mean it will be in.

Land lease commander and Kursk(since they plan something bigger for it) make sense.
More then that is day dreaming really.

Game isn't even 1 year old, if we will see new armies, it will not be soon considering commanders give close to infinite expanding on current factions.

another hint with Kursk approach:

Future deployments may include modifications to vehicle combat, weapon teams, or core gameplay systems.

To specify: Noun stated no ToW anytime soon and in a later post no commanders this month.

Youre still insisting that this game will never leave the eastern front.
That might be true but it might just as well not. Its CoH 2, not CoH - Eastern Front.
Yes, in the previous game they stayed on the western front, that doesent mean that every CoH title will have to stay on the same front with all its expansions.
(They actually did think about creating an eastern Front expansion for vCoH but werent satisfied with the capabilities of the engine since they couldnt realize all the stuff they wanted to do with it afaik).

I dont remember a big hype about mudtech. Just a trailer^^
Marketing also has something to do with knowing what people will expect and meeting the expectations.

Speaking of mudtech: That couldve been cooler Relic. Way cooler :P Deep snow reversed: Less problems for infantry bigger problems for tanks for example.

Thats true, Im just saying that some possible scenarios are more likely simply because they require less work. Africa or the pacific for example would require much more work than D-Day or the Ardennes.

Opposing Fronts was released one year after vCoH.

Lend-Lease makes sense since they havent touched that subject at all so far and they probably want to implement all the aspects of the eastern front that can potentially be fun and interesting for players.

Yes it does, it's the same version as the vCOH one, the M4A3(75)W http://www.model-making.eu/zdjecia/7/1/7/2227_1a71451_3.jpg

This version started to appear somewhere around the BotB.

It could be late war M4A2 sherman (The Russian received this version) which probably means that we we'll be getting something Lend-Lease related. But at the same time it could also be a late war M4A3 which is the version the US Army used. We can't be sure....

When I said something that wouldn't look like vCOH, I meant a British faction that doesn't look like the vCOH faction. Veterancy for the unit and not the officer; Fewer emplacements, etc.

I doubt there will be two factions in an expansion, but I could see adding a Brit faction in the farther future. I think it will be a US faction first. 300 million wealthy customers is hard to ignore.

The Battle of the Bulge fits nicely into COH2. The battle had many small engagements that make for a good campaign. 101st Airborne at Bastogne. 82nd at St. Vith. Jaoquin Pfeifer's desperate search for a bridge and fuel. US troops holding the line at Elsenborne Ridge. Patton shifting a whole front in 2 days.

And the whole battle fits into ColdTech.

Sure there were. At Montecassino there were a bit of everyone. US, Brits, Canadians, New Zealanders, Australians, Poles, French, Gurkhas, Italian Royalists, and Indians.
