HOLY SHIT, FINALLY

they finally dumb a lot of vCOH setting into COH2

- real cover & lethality
- micro-able evasion of faust/AT nade
- no more bullshit snipercar
- Great tweak for penals, assgren, shocks, ostruppen

But two things are worried

- call in, they didn't say anything about it, isn't it even better to fight until calling T-34/85 or Tiger?
- flamer 251, why do they repeat the mistake in vCOH, who would use it with T3 requirement?

Because then there would be only 1 doctrine set. Everything with Guards. With the AT nade nerf there would be NOTHING that could even remotely stop the 251 Flamer.

Will be interesting to see. I think the change is better. In vCoH the flame halftrack wasn't used because it was just bad. Flames are a lot more consistently deadly in CoH2 and I have things like smoke to help it avoid death. Also in vCoH if I'm going halftracks, I'm going for walking stukas. Also also, halftrack just wasn't needed in vCoH except stuka. Bunker reinforce, yo.

Coming at T2 was too much of a shock unit anyway I think. An early M8 didn't have nearly the killing or push you off the map power that this unit has if pulled off correctly. It's not unstoppable but if your pants are down it's vicious. Overall it felt gimmicky like a lot of other things. With T3 being a requirement I could see a lowering of munitions now, though.

Overall very excited to see these changes and eager to test them out. Nice job.

It needed to be done. With T70s and SU-76s so far off it would destroy any T1 soviet play. It's also not needed as much since shocks now have much lower armor.

PE 222 didnt reinforce infantry. It also couldn't crit half a squad to death in 1 second regardless of cover.

Mmmm, ass grens with sprint, better nades and 280 MP. That doctrine is looking tasty all of a sudden (the Stug might actually be worth something now as no counters for a while)

That is KV8, not Ostheer 251

All that reinforcing going on from the KV8 :P

But yeah the flame damage isnt quite that severe because of the range of AT nades. Which has now been reduced....

Good point, still a shame to see the ability be relegated to uselessness though.

now that small arms are more lethal, should we buff the mg42 to compesate? One of the reasons the mg42 was so OP before ( this was right after they made all german crews 4 man squads ) was that conscripts couldn't kill it even when they flanked it. Now that small arms can actually do more damage, they should actually kill the mg42. Should we remove the extra 25 pct damage received of the mg42?

Also, Grenadier armor is reduced. This was one of the few things that compensated for the larger Soviet Squads sizes. Since, Kar98 and Mosin Nagant have been changed to "bolt action profile" does that mean that all bolt action rifles do the same damage? If that's the case then conscripts will win outright against Grenadiers and that will be pretty unfair. Do Grenadiers do more damage at range than conscripts like the volksgrenadier to rifleman match?

[EDIT] Nevermind on the 2nd paragraph I see the damages it's on the front page of coh2.org

Which you'll be facing a lot more this patch by the way. The kv8 that is, seeing how soviets now can't really tech up so might as well go all-in with kv8 spam with an atgun blob. Captainsprice was a visionary.

Good point on the MG42 and on the Grens I sure as hell hope so. Dominance of Conscripts would be game breaking BS.

<444>3 the constant inflow of maps. It's slow but steady. Great to see another community map added to the pool!

kar 98k does double damage vs mosin nagants at long range. The soviets have 2 more men which means that grens do 25% more damage at long range than conscripts. However at medium/close range the damage is equal which means that conscripts do 25 % more damage.
