Flames do not destroy mines. Rifle Grenades only clear mines you can see. Unlike s-mines, they don't have little "Mines are here!" signs.

If s-mines are area denial to you, then you are not building a single patch. You are probably building multiple patches to cover an area.

Soviet mines aren't just put there hoping for vehicles - they are used equally against infantry.


Rifle Grenades destroy mines no matter if they're visible or not. (I'm 99% percent sure, can someone confirm please ? :D) And I also think that flamers (at least fht) destroy soviet mines as well.

Best way to clear them is early vehicles. LOL thats just wrong on many levels.

Like Archon said good luck getting an Engi near it as it is usually accompanied by an HMG.

Good luck clearing the HMG since your scour car gets blown up trying to get in there.

Once you get real vehicles though its kind of a waste of muni.

Just sucks early game.

By early vehicles you mean T34?
Because you know, M3 will blow up on them.

Just walk over them. It takes more than one mine to kill a single conscript and they have bigger squads anyways. Just treat them as osstruppen and there you go! minefield cleared.

yeah,the speed at which they are planted is crazy. It just needs a planting time increase,and it will be good.

rifle nades blow up invisible mines. i can confirm that. and this was in the august patch notes:

• Mines can now be killed by flamethrowers


i dont think ive ever gotten it to work though. it may just take a long time. i lose patience and just sweep them.

See a sign... Get a minesweeper.. Germans are out 60muni with no benefit. Don't understand how this is an issue.

Agreed, s-mines moved from being unusable, to being marginally useful.

The minesweeper detect range is now so large your engineer should not have to get anywhere near combat to expose the mines.

One mine patch will also not take out a scout car, so if you have it use it.

If you don't like s-mines we need to give ost 30 munitions mines. Ost needs to be able to control Soviet inf and fast flanking tanks w/o manpower.

Porygon often exaggerates, but he is right here. The ability of the Soviet mine to wipe a squad or get an immobilize on a tank has still not been addressed, and we are worrying about s-mines right now?

Radio intercept??

People are just not used to have to get a minesweeper as soviet or use other available options.

Be glad, german using muni on mines means 1 less bunker upgrade, LMG42, G43, FHT, upgun, etc.

Did sweeper back in vCOH work in Roos? I forgot.
But even if sweeper work in clown car, it doesn't help anything but wasted fuel for an early flamer clown car.

S-mines are fine now and really easy to deal with as pointed out in earlier posts. It's quite amusing to see people calling it OP when a bloody soviet mine is useful against both tanks and infantry and can one shot a vet 3 PG squad. Oh and might I add soviets automatically have access to demo charges without having to tech for them whereas the Ostheer do not.
