Ami asked me to post this here...

Since the new patch, roughly 20-25% of the time, coh2.org loads like this for me:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ak3q9gcz5pvtdwf/coh22.org.jpg
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qucashts319gczv/coh.jpg

Chrome, default zoom.

Have the same problem, too. If I hover over the screenshot/Trending part the description there will come back.

It's a global issue related to a recent update of chrome last week. Lots of people and other sites having the issue. I also noticed some other styling issues that appeared in chrome at the same time on another project.

You can fix the render on the current page by doing a quick zoom in/zoom out.

Apparently adding this in our pages would be a temporaty fix. Anyone having the bug knows about to hack this code on his page to test it?

Code
jQuery('body')
.delay(500)
.queue(
function(next){
jQuery(this).css('padding-right', '1px');
}
);

Or maybe in css only :

Code
body
{
-webkit-animation-duration: 0.1s;
-webkit-animation-name: fontfix;
-webkit-animation-iteration-count: 1;
-webkit-animation-timing-function: linear;
-webkit-animation-delay: 0.1s;
}

@-webkit-keyframes fontfix{
from{ opacity: 1; }
to{ opacity: 1; }
}

or

Code
jQuery('body').width(jQuery('body').width()+1).width('auto')

WOOOOOT NOT OUR PROBLEM :D :banana:

This is retarded though.

Now there are thousand of sites on the web that looks broken, and all the customers will associate this fail to the site/brand, and not to a fail from the browser.

Also developers waste so much time because the render on each browser is different, those creators of content just want their shit to look like they wanted.

I actually hate the position and power of browsers (or I should talk about the layout engine here) who can basically display what they want off pages.

The common visitors have no idea about all of this, yet they are totally dependent on it to see the world (wide web).

I'm currently in the process of developing new websites and I'm just starting, thanks for the info, I had a problem with one of my own websites and this was the issue.

Seb :wub: Just as I say "not our problem" he goes and fixes it. Can somebody pls screenshot the portal in chrome? I wonder if the grey box behind "Event in Progress" is showing now. That was never meant to be white on light green (ack!). Chrome hates our custom fonts and it hates our gradient boxes too.

How it is supposed to look:

I didn't apply it, someone with "firebug" for chrome or whatever should test first... and I didn't invent it either, it's all on the link I posted. :p

Cool, which solution worked for you ? I'll publish it for everyone.

I don't think we want to change our fonts though. :p

Lady Xenarra: Does anyone else think that USF needs buffs? It feels like they’re on life support sometimes
01 Apr 2025, 02:36 AM
Willy Pete: @Rosbone Ahh I missed that memo. I still think its a bad decision though. Adds frustration for players and isnt gonna make them that much money
27 Mar 2025, 15:46 PM
Rosbone: It is also good they left it free until after the free to play weekend. Points for that.
27 Mar 2025, 09:34 AM
Rosbone: But I agree, the cost to get a full decent Coh game pushing $115 US is not the best idea. Especially when it needs so much more work for casuals.
27 Mar 2025, 09:32 AM
Rosbone: To be fair, it was a thank you to early fans right? They said it was not free for long and it would become a pay DLC at some point.
27 Mar 2025, 09:30 AM
Willy Pete: Re-releasing free DLC so they can charge new players money for it. Brilliant marketing strategy :clap:

Soheil: Coh2 still broken server ?
25 Mar 2025, 18:27 PM
Rosbone: Congrats to Relic. Looks like Coh3 has finally usurped Coh2 s the popular Coh. You smell terrific. :snfQuinn:.
