Has it always been 40 ammo?

I could have sworn it was 20 ammo:unsure:

If it was 20 and is now 40....that seems kinda harsh =/

Tank smoke is a very, very good escape though. It essentially is a do-over for a lot of situations if you make a glaring mistake that would normally cost you.

I was one of the people who wanted this change, but I wouldn't object to it being 35 or 30. We're pretty much Relic's extended beta testers for some things, this change included.

It was already nerfed to 30 (from 15) in November.
(Which was good and needed)

Has it been stealth nerfed again? If so, 40 is too expensive.

This makes no sense.

It already WAS 30.
How then can you have been one of the people who "wanted this change" to 40, when you "wouldnt object to it being ... 30", when it already WAS 30?

That makes no sense, man.

40 ammo for smoke seems to be a little tuff to come up with...

First time back since before big patch. Tiger and SI? Might have played a couple or few games in early Nov.

First game played since being back...go to use smoke. Might of had 25 or 30 ammo...no smoke...no smoke..no smoke no smoke.

Well damn....

so, lets break down everything in this game and whine about it. Purpose of forums completed.

edit: to make my point clearer, this thread is a waste of space.

Well the ability is plenty powerful. It negates button instantly and gets your tank out of there.

I'm pretty sure he means he wanted the initial nerf, which ended up being from 15 to 30. I think his other point was that he either thinks if it was going to be nerfed again, 35 should have been it, but not 40.

Now now Nullist play nice... I personally think 40 is cool, it forces zi German to chose carefully when to use it (not spammable at all atm) and it breaks button (costing the same). If a tank is out of position a player should be punished for it, and cheap smoke negates exactly that (30 wasnt cheap, but I like that it will hurt you if you make a mistake using this commander).

40 MUNI for a no-skill-needed ability that can single-handedly save the 720 MANP, 200 FUEL Tiger you overextended and by all accounts should have lost... Plus an incredibly strong synergy with vet 1 blitz. 40 MUNI seems like a pretty modest cost to be honest.

Also if the increase makes people actually plan before a tank battle to save up a little bit of resources in case things go tits up, it`s good, adds strategy. Otherwise it works in an exactly opposite way as a skill-equalizer: Oh I f-ed up? Nevermind, smoke!

Easy easy. You can still attackground through the smoke or gain los via a third unit.

But enemy tank start dance like crazy if lost LOS. Smoke is very good ability for 40 muni.

30 was fine.

As others have pointed out, you can attack ground so that the projectile impacts with the hull. Also its not really that hard to have something spotting on the other side of Smoke, especially on overextended Ost armor. You only need one unit to see it, for all units to see it.

In a backline role, vs against for example long ranged ZiS or SU85s, you dont rrally even need Smoke. A simple reverse command in time works just fine.

It was fine at 30 Muni, especially considering the asymmetric alignment of Commanders, where generally Ost abilities are Muni options, whereas Sov ones are callins for MP.

40 is OTT. Sure, its maneageable, but imo this unduly stresses Osts already high Muni reliance. 30 was dine.

Smoke is a free ticket to save an expensive tank.
Button is 40 ammo, Mark Target is 80. Smoke negates both.

Yeah 30 ammo was fine for this ability. If they stealth nerfed it 40 ammo that is silly.

I barely use it since I use mortar smoke more by predicting when I might get in trouble, but it does save me in situations I don't expect. 40 ammo is less often to be stock piled in the early/mid game so you can't really use it much.

It doesnt negate either one, if you have a unit spotting.

Without Smoke, Button is a guaranteed win if you have necessary AT support.
MT works even through Smoke. Remember there is a frigging plane watching the unit?

At Ara: Sorry, but your bias is beginning to become pretty obvious. You might want to tone that back a bit.
