Just beg to God that it's not EA who got it's claws into Relic. I mean; then we'd all have to use Origin. Fuck me for that.

Segs seems the most promising buyer.

It seems the auction is still going on. The hearing has been delayed until 3PM EST.. Nothing on Relic or CoH yet.

Seems like he just takes whatever job is going, no need for alarm. I would say apply for a spot writing trash for kotaku but you're too shit to even do that.

i'd probably write in my native language rather than in english.
but, compared to all the other english as a 2nd language type guys on this site my english language skills pwn hard.

looks like "THQ will probably fold" is only a few hours away from coming true :) :) :)
and it looks like all of THQs assets will sell for a lot more than $60 million... so the bankruptcy process in delaware isn't that biased.

good source for auction info

And then you're happy, right? What the fuck are you doing on this forums, if it is such a joy for you that people responsible for COH are going through such rough times?

It's a reference to my 13 month old "THQ Will Probably Fold" thread that drew a tonne of heat.

I care about Led Zeppelin.
I don't care about Atlantic Records.

Now its time for the sleazebuckets at the top of THQ to lose their jobs.

You do not need to worry about the top notch creative talent behind CoH.
The best entertainment software makers and its best support staff will always have jobs.

for example, THQ-Tank... aka Aaron "APOC" Kaufman.

I have no idea what Warner Bros. would do with them

Sega laid off its North American staff something like 8 months ago.
hopefully, if they win the auction they know what they are doing this time.

Well as a publisher SEGA is mostly fine I think, like people have pointed out, they're backing Rome II Total War and they backed Universe at War even though that game turned out to be a huge failure.

Honestly, I think Relic going to Sega would be the best case scenario. Sega has proven that they respect the PC market, and would put Relic and its IPs to good use. This would probably be the least dramatic change to Relics operations as well, as Sega runs its developers in much the same way THQ did.

Sega also has the warhammer fantasy license, so if Relic goes to Sega there is a high probability that they would get to keep the 40k license and continue making DoW.

One thing I would like to point out is that Sega have had issues with people making videos using their games.

something to be weary about

From what I understand that is the actions of the developer of the shining games having a fit on youtube. Definitely not something that Sega of America endorses.

Ah, that's a good point. Sega might be trying to corner the Warhammer market, giving the Fantasy license to CA and the 40k one to Relic. That would be neat.

Two 'very important' THQ asset bids are completed it seems. Nothing on which ones. My guess is that, and most likely, Saints Row is one of them.

@Ipkaifung: seems related only to that game. Seeing no problems with people who've been doing total war for some time.

And Sega could certainly try to set themselves up nicely for the warhammer market. But if the rumours are true, just strategy games in general what with Relic and Creative assembly. They'd certainly have a niche carved out for themselves there.
