I'm unsure about Sega.

People like to point out the Total War Series, and don't get me wrong, they are great! (I've got them all, except for the original shogun), but they are great because of Creative Assembly.

We DON'T know what kind of changes a new publisher could push into the developer, so its still a gamble. IMHO, Double Fine would be the healthiest buyer, but we all know they don't have the purchasing power.

What will happen to the Homeworld IP, btw? If EA got their hands on that, they'd probably make it a facebook game ffs.

Yeah. The point is. Sega doesn't seem to meddle much with their developers.

Yeah, if the Total War games are great because of Creative Assembly, then CoH 2 can be great because of Relic. If Sega were screwing with their dev teams then how would CA be able to make great games?

I hope something good happens to the Homeworld IP some day, but honestly if anyone made games LIKE Homeworld I wouldn't really care if it were the same IP or not.

This just in! (Always wanted to say that lol :P ) The $60,5mln offer from Clearlake for THQ is out of the running. The THQ assets (including Relic) will be sold individually to the highest bidder.

Sega buying Relic is the best we can hope for.

Hopefully Lynx can get a job for either Sega or Relic.

Hopefully, all the Relic guys will be OK through this transition.

My heart goes out to all the THQ employees, here's hoping for a smooth transition for them. It's going to be bumpy.

I can breathe a sigh of relief. I hope everybody at Relic is happy about this news as well, and I hope everyone makes it through this okay.

Sega, our new masters, treat our Relic employees kindly, let them make a beautiful game and receive lots of dollars for your sushi tummies! All hail SEGA, our new grandmaster.

Btw I just registered here http://forums.sega.com/ waiting for confirmation. I'm gonna make a welcome thread from the CoH community to Sega. I don't know about you guys, but I am genuinely happy about this purchase. It could have been a LOT worse (khm khm EA anyone) and I have done some scouting of SEGA on the internet, they seem like a quality company. The next month will be very interesting!

sega sounds loads better than ea or ubi.. shogun2 was kinda pay2win though.
many DLCs included massive balance issues for example theheavy gunners or my beloved firecav with upgraded charge..if used correctly of course. they got "fixed" by now but for quite some time they just werent.

i hope coh2 wont be forced to take that path :(

any chance a "WE WANT LYNX" thread on sega ore something would help to keep him for sure?

As an original Sega Master System guy, and current CoH enthusiast, I can't help but have my heartstrings plucked. Nevertheless, the Sega of my youth and the company as it stands are vastly different entities.

Here's hoping from a good CoH2 execution. Some love given to the state of CoH 1, though not expected, would be a welcome surprise.

While I wish it would I doubt it considering THQ was based in Los Angeles and Sega America is based in San Francisco.

I thought THQ Montreal (where Lynx was) was bought by Ubi?
