Raid section and 2x Vickers-K upgrade

Why you always have to pay for two VickersK for Raid Sections :S? Why the upgrade is not divided into 2 separate upgrades that gives 1 Vickers-K? Imo 120munies is a hefty investment upfront and is on of the reasons why I don't like the squad

Probably for the same reason why Guards buys 2 DPs and A. Guards buy 3 DPs.

I'm not sure (because I don't use that sxxt unit) but I heard they can't pay 60 muni to get new one when they drop one weapon. If that's true, at least this should be fixed?

p.s. Just confirmed it really is impossible to upgrade 1 vickers K after dropping one.

Raid sections require "weapon Rack" upgrade. If it was as simple as with fusiliers (to get access via essential tech advancement), I would have agreed with you. But since you have to invest in a rack, this makes absolutely no sense.

I'm not sure (because I don't use that sxxt unit) but I heard they can't pay 60 muni to get new one when they drop one weapon. If that's true, at least this should be fixed?

AFAIK you actually can. Maybe I'm tripping, but I recall doing it several times.

I have done some test in test mod. No luck.

Even after squad drops the vickers K, upgrade icon stays deactivated

if you are about "remove slot weapon" feature, then I don't really trust it, since you can end up cloning the upgrade on troops on which this feature works. Imo the only true way to test this is via losing squad members.

I remember the balance team acknowledged the issue, but I never played Brits to actually know if they fixed it.

damn, Ok then I guess. Where is Aerafield when you need him? First you need weapon rack to get the upgrade, now this

In light of Raid section's design background was to make ukf have a usf rifleman equivalent mainline I kinda agree that they could have had their vickers upgrade split in two, similar to how riflemen can get their bars one at a time. 120 muni at once is kinda lot for a mainline, the only other unit that has to pay this much at once is the usf paras for lmg upgrade, but they are one of the best long range specialists and arrive later.

I dont get this unit. Why would i ever choose this unit over Ass Sections, Mandos or rec. Sappers? Their dmg is mediocre, no snare, you still need weapon racks (lol). Seems like completely worthless tbh.

Because they are mid oriented and not close and there damage is fine for cost.

In addition on choose a commander and not a single unit.

Once Grens/Volks get their weapon upgrade they get shit on. On top of that they have almost no utility beside faster capping speed. And the commander is mostly inferior to Lend Lease or Mobile Assault. Its bottom 3 commander for a reason.

Nobody does. Just pretend the unit doesn't exist. Or better, pretend commander doesn't exist. Special Weapon or Royal Engi is way better IMO.

Utility is one of the things they have:
Sprint/anti garrison grenades
Mines

They have the advantage before weapons upgrades and they can also get weapon upgrades to fight upgraded axis mainlines infatry and are good at supporting normal IS from enemy units moving in. They do not need to replaced IS they can work with them.

As for commander it is a separate issue but I have to point out that commander lack powerful off map/artillery unit so it not very desirable in large modes.

the commander has decent potential, but Raid Sections just don't cut it. If you could split the upgrade, that would have been much better.
