Do i have to switch to beta to play 64bit or has the main-game been switched to 64bit by default after the update?

Maybe it's 'cause the Axis players aren't a bunch of forum crybabies, and they keep their cool and fight the uphill battle, unlike some of their "allied" counterparts.

A version of CoH2 still exists in 32bit, but you might not be able to fully experience the game as it should be if you don't use the latest 64bit version. Most modern CPUs from the last ten years are 64 bits, so it shoulnd't be a problem if you have a modern PC.

32 Bit Legacy Beta

For the very small minority of players whose hardware does not allow them to run the new 64 Bit update, we have created a 32 bit legacy beta on Steam.

To access this beta, follow these steps:

Right Click Company of Heroes 2 on Steam
Select Properties
Navigate to the Betas Tab
Select “legacy_32bit” from the drop town
Close the Properties window
Your game should now patch to the legacy version

That's partially incorrect. The game is still out for 32 bit users. See legacy mode above.

I expect the 32 bit legacy mode is just for Singleplayer? Or will you be able to connect and play with 64 bit players if one were to use the Legacy beta? I'd imagine the answer to be "no", but I suppose its worth asking.
