I got in. Signed up @ 9:35AM PST day of the alpha launch. Successfully activated it through Steam and have been playing ever since.

There also was an Alpha key giveaway on Twitter... they gave away 5 keys. .. First was taken after 2h, second after 8h. So much for interest in alpha participation.

im not sure what you are talking about or where you see that, it looks like they gave more away after the first 5 is all
