Artillery Flares-Early Warning

In royal artillery, early warning can be replace by something like recon section, whichs have flare like PF, and if possible, replace valentine by artillery officer, allowing valentine to be adjusted and be stock.

i think in a faction without pinpoint rocket arty the flares at 120-150 muni would be fine, that isn’t the case though
The fact that it costs the same as a recon plan but is uncounterable AND foesnt give any of the cues is just insulting to balance tbh

HOWEVER, They are axis’ only way to get vision as the quad just snaps planes out of existence instantly.
If recon planes are nerfed to compensate I would suggest an AA nerf to the quad

Recon is already in the game. The only thing unique about artillery flares/early warning is that they are uncounterable, and that's not a good thing
Then why not make all artillery strikes plane based too, they too are uncounterable.

But... that's the exact point of this thread, isn't it?
Flare based recon has no risk, 100% reliability and is uncounterable while also giving no "warning" on the map that you're being scouted and where unless you see the flares on main screen.
Scout planes need to get there and they circle over scouted area, making player anticipate something there.

In any case, the value of this ability is decreased by the upcoming IFHT rework: "Vision now narrows to 120 degree arc when set-up and increases vision to 70".
Though I will say that if the Command Panther gets buffed to compensate...….

by the way how can OKW counter on map arty ? if u remove all flares ...

People are fine if the flare is attached to a unit (example mortars or PF).
People are not fine with 1 click button from commander slot which can't be acknowledge where they are been used nor counter/destroyed, while also providing vision for other abilities to proc. If OKW needs a way to scout to kill offmap, scout planes do the work fine. What scout planes can't do is enable artillery or planes which requires vision to do their job if there's AA in the zone.
Spynetwork is minimap only information IIRC.

If the abilities cannot be changes just increase the cost?
They CAN be changed, they powers that be just don't want to change them because apparently the commanders would bu up if they didn't have abilities that are literally uncounterable and defying the idea of counter play in them. The fact that okw arty flares currently cost the same as a COUNTERABLE recon plane that is insult to injury, but the very design of it is poor regardless.
