Here's a complete noob question (I can't believe im asking this and am kinda ashamed of myself) but do tanks have the same movement speed going forward and reverse? It doesn't feel like it in game, and it woukdnt make sense, but im really note sure.

The Is-2's higher price reflects its superior kill rate against infantry. You can kill 2 entities per shot.

I agree with Woof that the IS-2 is more of a shoot, backtrack, shoot, backtrack sort of vehicle. The tiger is too slow and fast firing to do this sort of thing effectively.
The is2 will squad wipe anything in its center blast radius. The only thing saving inf from not getting wiped is being in the outer perimeter of the blast radius.

I do not understand why IS-2 should be AI ?
There is a great AI KV -8 , make IS-2 AT

To the strength of action munitions goals and the ravages of the D- 25 is the most powerful gun is installed on the production tanks during World War II . Power armor-piercing projectile D-25 was so great that , breaking the first shot from a distance of 1400 meters aboard tower trophy tank "Panther" , after the second round shot not only made another hole , but tore off the turret ,
tank "Panther" from a distance of 1400 meters with a hit in the upper front hull was holed (150 to 230 mm ) with a crack at the weld , in the side of the tower formed hole (130 to 130 mm) , the opposite was knocked overboard , and it tore at weld seam in the frontal towers - hole (180 x 240 mm ) , the tower itself frustrated with the overhead and shifted by 500 mm;

"Ferdinand" with distance of 1400 m in the front received the trim sheet housing hole (120 by 150 mm ) from the second sheet projectile impact , the front leaf cuttings remained dent depth of 100 mm.
From these results it is clear that only "Ferdinand" at a distance of 1500 m is able to withstand a duel with the tank IS-2 , but these self-propelled guns were produced only 90 pieces, and on the Eastern Front in 1944 - 1945 they are practically not used .

I appreciate your interest in realism, but remember that does not balance the game at all. If it did the IS-2 would need to bring the gun back to the neutral position between each shot to reload it, since the breach was too long for the turret.

IS-2 is good against infantry because a doctrine with great AI and great AT would automatically be picked every time. You are also significantly under representing the damage the IS-2 can do to tanks. It is a real and serious threat to any Ost armor piece, even the elephant if it can get on its flank.

It's also good to keep in mind, the IS-2 is AI and AT. The only way it could be more AT is to have a faster firing gun, but you'd need to take away it's infantry fighting ability. As someone else already explained before, you can still beat a Tiger by shooting, backing up to reload, then repeating.

there isnt much of a problem with its performance, other than its hp which could be buffed to be in line with the tiger.

its the cost that is wrecking this amazing tank. it costs a tad too high.

Well a HP buff and cost reduction would be too much, I think.

Nah, my only experience with the new TA was someone charging it into an SU-85 and 3 T-34's (2 85's). I'm not sure how well the old one would have fared in that situation, but this one did not survive.

A complete no brainer to field.
With old you had to consider if you can afford resource stop, with new one, as long as you have at least 1 additional tank there is no reason not to get TA.

I don´t consider the new Tiger Ace a nerf either. If it only costs 800 manpower, the 90% fuel drain doesn´t do much as you will probably have about 200+ fuel anyway as reserve by the time you have the CPs.

The 25% manpower income decrease is more like an upkeep cost.

And for all this you get a vet 3 Tiger which is also a bit faster than other Tigers and has a better coax gun.
