Hello guys,

playing again since ages... Makes a lot of fun :)

Is there a current summary/Excel/comparisonabout all infantry units, who beats whom?

Thx in advance!

Hello Juwel,

as far as I know there is no up-to-date guide on that.

There is also no quick answer to what you asked for, as all engagements are range dependent. For example, SOV shock troops are probably the best CQC infantry in the game, but would lose to probably even Osttruppen at max range.

If you want general advice on how to use some units, I would suggest asking for these units here in the thread. There will be controversy, but most of the people here are happy to share their point of view.

Which units do you want to know about?

Some general rules but there exemptions

Infantry uses certain types of weapons that are generally better at certain ranges:
LMGs best max range negative DPS at close range
Bolton action rifles are best max range
Semi automatic rifles better at mid range and on the move
Assault rifles better mid to close
Smg better at close flat at minimum (usually 10-0)
Special

Flamer reduce range to 20 flat damage and extra damage to garrison and AOE

There is also the patch notes and design intent although a bit outdated:

Small Arms Weapon Profiles

want it simple ?

for base inf with no upgrade and only axis vs inf

cons beat volks and green at close range but lose at long, pgreens beat them at close range

rifle beats volks and green at close mid range and it's 50/50 at long, p green beat them at close

IS beat volks at long and mid and close (although u might lose sometime at close) when in cover and beats them at long without cover , pgreen beat them at close

upgrades changes things a bit

bar are an all ranges upgrades but not as much as other mid and long range

stg volks are a mid and close range upgrade

lmg 42/bren are stricly long range upgrade (one os chaper and a bit worse than the other)

Hello guys,
thanks for the awesome feedback. You guys are totally right: this is a complex topic and there is no almighty answer. I think beside of all valuable hints I can use the answer by Stug life for now.

My intention was about to get an overview what inf beat what inf in very early game in what range to avoid useless fights or fix postioning well.

Let me check some videos and read the forum. Than I'll be back with more particual questions.

Have nice Xmas days!

What? It's pretty simply and cleanly laid out. Only thing its missing is Obers, but those are pretty much just "Grens+".

It doesn't take into account price/reinforce costs, though, which are pretty critical.
