What do you guys not like about these two maps?

Honestly i used to seriously dislike novogrod, but after playing it a bit more i came to like it, my only real gripe with it is the garrisons in the southern cutt of and northern cut off. So ima go with elpern on this one, Shame it has to go when there are worse map (Looks at arnhem)

When the map came out it was getting decent plays. That quickly dropped to only getting a few plays. That told me something about the map was not fun to play. Since I dont play 1v1, I assumed I just missed some major piece.
Since then with some advice from you guys and watching some replays, we got some things changed around. But at this point I am not 100% sure it will be any better received. And everyone has already had to veto it for 4 months. The last thing I want is to make you have to veto it for another 6-12 months. Especially when there are new 1v1 maps out there that show a lot of promise to be FUN.
So I am not against the NEW Novgorod being updated in automatch. I am against it staying if it means one of the new maps will not be used. I would rather it get deleted and a NEW map take its place. Maybe dumping Arnhem for Novgorod is a possibility? That is up to Relic, Sturmpanther, you guys, etc.

Probably also worth considering that winter/snow maps tend to tank performance on lower end PCs, and some people veto them because they can't play the game smoothly on those maps. Just because the play rate is lower than expected doesn't mean people hate playing on the map.

There are some maps which have been on my veto for ages, and they shall never be unvetoed.And I guess it's this kind of mentality that makes map updates a waste of time?

It is exactly why. Most players will not play an updated map or hell, even new maps. One of the peculiar things you’ll notice is the few people that are playing new maps (I’m talking week or release) have extremely higher than average spectators. People will not risk their epeen (playercard), and when they finally do, if thy lose on it, it’s trash, win, it’s great! Very few people are able to get based these initial emotional responses of a win or loss so they will just outright avoid them entirely. Leading to old maps most people seem to universally hate being in the most played still.
Also in replying on mobile, so this is not all of what there is to say, and it’s most likely ramble-y.
