Barton, if I want history lessons I'll ask someone else than a failed troll spending his time miserably trying to get any form of attention on an internet forum. If you were as educated as you pretend to be, you would know that generals aren't responsible for securing a perimeter. Oh and the dark guy on every other COH2 poster is someone suspiciously looking like Gueorgui Joukov; I don't think it's because he was terrible at commanding, but you don't seem to know him anyway.

Chillty, I've heard that "Come at me bro" thing from people thousands of kms away many times already, so unless you're willing to travel you better shut up and and respect the badge that you've been given.

I'm serious, you're the one who started calling me something like uhh "Uneducated?" I'm at school 8 hours a day, after that I go home and do 1 hour homework before im off to boxing or the gym, haha. And"dumb".. uhh. Probably you're the one who should respect the badge. If you care so much about people using smileys on the forums you should really start thinking straight. This is a forum for a simple game. Not taken as serious as an full time job, but maybe this is you'r fulltime job? MVGame

And btw, im not getting that pissed off by hearing some stupid words from keyboard warriors, its just your badge.
I thought you were supposed to treat members respectfully with that, but maybe not ;)

Chillty - You should read the book first. Dick Winters was a model officer. He never considered himself or spoke of himself as a hero, it was his men who did that. And though that attack happened (the men of Easy give credit for most of the kills to the artillery) it is possible in small unit actions for even the most elite units to find themselves on the wrong end of luck. It wasn't a "fair fight". It wasn't meant to be.

If you have watched BoB then you have seen Winters speak. he is the man with glasses who says at the beginning of the series that he had been called a hero but that he wasn't one, but that he served in a company of them.

Talked about that guy. It says he were Richard Winters. A few months since I watched it so I can't remember too much of names. :)

TitsTwister - how soldiers fight without good command? like shit probably, it's like in CoH, Gieorgij Zhukov was a great commander, did i said he wasn't? i said that Red army didn't had many good generals after Great Purge, it didn't change the fact that they needed much more generals to command such a big army you know? About education.... i'm really good at history you know? so i know what i'm talking about

And please.... save your useless comments about my trolling for yourself k?

BoB 6/6
The Pacific 1/6

Just hope they get back on track for the adaptation of Donald L. Miller’s book, Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany.

Completely agree. Compared to Band of Brothers, The Pacific was terrible. Not only in pacing and story linearity, but the series itself was too short and completely unfocused, at least to me.

I'd love to see a series on the bomber crews of WWII. Sure there were some questionable targets and decisions made throughout the ranks, but for the most part, this was probably one of the most frightening theatres of the war that doesn't get much attention. On a side note, it also reminds me of an 'old' game called B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty Eighth that I played once and could never find it again after upgrading my computer a couple of years afterward. It made me have tears.

I wish flight sims were still "in." Yeah, War Thunder is pretty fun, but it's got too much of an FFA feel to me. It's a bit too random and has a weird P2W vibe. I loved the WWII flight sims that gave you some mission objective (such as bombing a factory, or defending said bombers) and you then try to complete it without knowing what potential opposition and challenges that lie in wait. With the advances in technology and game engines, it's so very possible to create a flight sim with incredibly dynamic objectives and awesome co-op play potential. Just imagine playing a mission in which a couple of your buddies are flying Spitfires in escort and another buddy and you are manning every position in a Lancaster. As you get closer to the target, one of you takes over piloting the thing while the other aims the sight. Flak starts shaking the cabin and lighting up the night sky, and soon you see innumerable tracers streaking up from the dark, black abyss below you.

Sorry, went completely off topic, but that would be so awesome and so much fucking fun. I guess I'm just gonna have to dream.

WTF is wrong with this guy. Russians sucked big time in the first part of the war. THATS FACT! Get over it! IF you dont believe me, check the finnish war where a shitone of russians died in ambushes when camping. Why? Because they knew how to set up a "perimeter". Just like that in the stupid american movie minus the terminator.

So you seriously think that generals go to the field and order each of their platoon, battalion or division to secure the perimeter every time they stop, and then check if it is well done? Generals command armies, not single divisions. There's a hierarchy of command that makes that "routine" tasks such as securing the perimeter are supervised by other people, depending on the size of the unit.

omfg, you really don't understand what i'm trying to say... Generals are responsible for everything what their officers (or w/e they are called) do on the front. General duty is to plan defence/offence, officers are executing it. you even know how command hierarchy works or not? because your post is senseless right now.

Now you're telling me that generals plan how each of their squad, platoon, battalion etc. will secure their perimeter every time they have to, right? If so I corrected my previous post to make it clearer:

So you seriously think that generals tell each of their platoon, battalion or division how to secure the perimeter every time they stop? Generals command armies, not single divisions. There's a hierarchy of command that makes that "routine" tasks such as securing the perimeter are planned, executed and supervised by other people, depending on the size of the unit. Officers are officers because they are able to make decisions and command smaller units on their own, without a general telling them what to do all the time.

"2. The officer must perform as the decision maker. This includes all matters that relate to their area of obligation. [...] The decision-making role is characterized by the officer’s duty to plan and organize. [...] Given a task, the officer must decide on a plan of action."

If not, I'm afraid that your posts make less sense than mine.

Anyone here a veteran military officer? If you are not, then being armchair generals won't help you pull your point across.

Everyone here is speaking in facts, when in reality you are making assumptions. Here's the facts:

**BoB, the series, is made for entertainment. As such, it won't be 100% accurate.

**BoB, the book, is a personal account, not a historical document. It could have inaccuracies.

**All armies set up guards, since the beginning of time. Humans have been making mistakes and getting careless even before that.

**All conflicts are full of example of force multiplication. In fact, unconventional warfare has force multiplication as one of its tenets. It is entirely possible for a small group of soldiers to take on opposing forces two, three, ten times their size, given the right circumstances, variables(luck) and/or preparation.

Everything else we might try to say, is just screaming like we know stuff that we actually don't. Even Generals have little opinion compared to the men whose boots ar eon the ground. Our boots were not on that ground, so we are speaking out of our asses here.

Still doesn't mean something that happened in the series/book didn't actually happen, because someone with anti American sentiment made a baseless claim to contrary on the internet. ;)

Next time someone wants to contradict a non fictional account from a well known historian, they should bring facts to the table instead of rambling "'Merica this...SS that..."

13 Mar 2025, 20:00 PM
Rosbone: They dont care about Coh3 or Coh in general. They are just trying to grab cash by ripping off the small user base they have.
13 Mar 2025, 19:58 PM
Rosbone: Just making mistake after mistake after mistake.
13 Mar 2025, 19:57 PM
Rosbone: It is clear they crapped out an unfinished game. And are now barely supporting it as they make new smaller games. Coh3 is stillborn. It will be meh for at least another 2-4 years. Meaning they killed the whole franchise instead of growing it.
13 Mar 2025, 19:56 PM
Rosbone: For a thing they could fix in minutes. Literally minutes.
13 Mar 2025, 19:53 PM
Rosbone: If I did play coh3 and was mainly a skirmish player, I would be pissed and probably stop playing. And it has been like this since release. Why? I would not tell my friends to buy a game I am not even playing. Lost sales and angered users.
13 Mar 2025, 19:53 PM
Rosbone: I am just saddened how Relic keeps hurting themselves by not fixing 5 minute things like menus. Why anger users with stuff that could be fixed in minutes???
13 Mar 2025, 19:50 PM
Rosbone: I was wondering why people think I was raging. I think it was when I said "because coh3 sucks so bad". That was not my opinion. Just a general feel from top players/streamers. I dont play Coh3 and have NO opinion of it.
13 Mar 2025, 19:48 PM
OKSpitfire: You can rage as often as you like btw, you usually manage to make it pretty funny.
12 Mar 2025, 11:18 AM

12 Mar 2025, 04:30 AM
Rosbone: Knowing how companies work, I imagine a new hire making the menus. The API they are using is complicated and things were hard to figure out. But at some point QA or management should have addressed these things. Usually within 6 months of starting.
12 Mar 2025, 04:29 AM
Rosbone: @theekvn I dont hate Coh3 or Relic. I just dont understand how you work on Coh3 for like 7 years and the menu system is worse than if a Programming 101 student made it. Feel free to explain it to me.

12 Mar 2025, 03:51 AM
KoRneY: @aerafield It's possible that it is underpriced for what it is capable of now, no need to go full retard and take it immediately as a massive problem. It costs 60 more MP than a pz.3 and in 2v2 the barrage can be quite strong.
07 Mar 2025, 19:14 PM
OKSpitfire: I do like that they made the Stuka more expensive instead of nerfing it into the ground though. Found it pretty unsatisfying to use before that buff a while back....
06 Mar 2025, 16:35 PM
aerafield: USF already is by far the shittiest faction in terms of countering blobbing and turtling, now they supposedly have one overtuned tool locked behind a BG and it's immediately a massive problem?
06 Mar 2025, 13:33 PM
Lady Xenarra: I think post-2.0 Whizbang buffs, the price is too low esp since the Stuka got nerfed in cost too. Speaking of which, how exactly is one supposed to successfully dive this Sherman in disguise? Med tank spam running into SSFs?
06 Mar 2025, 12:13 PM
OKSpitfire: A powerful, doctrinal unit that outperforms stock stuff? Colour me shocked! :P
06 Mar 2025, 10:49 AM
Willy Pete: Cool you wanna lose your stock lategame arty too then?
06 Mar 2025, 03:20 AM
Lady Xenarra: WTB Whizzbang for DAK instead of Stuka, 5 fuel cheape, 60MP more expensive and next to impossible to dive.
