Hey Guys,

Thanks Ami - Great stuff.

We're with you. Honestly.

With the work we've done behind the scenes (with our server team), we can really tackle these kinds of initiatives. This work probably would have been much harder when we launched COH2 and we probably wouldn't have built a great feature; now it's within our grasp to create something far better and meaningful.

Thanks again!

Quinn

The day we get to watch SNF live cast a game will be tremendous.

There has been nothing more to add!

It's in DoW1 and 2 as well, so we need it in CoH2 as well!

A really good written article over there Ami and i fully agree with you!!!

My skin is prickiling if I am thinking about a large area with a livecast from Ami & Co during a high skilled match with hundreds of viewers sitting int front of them!!!

Please Relic! Have a seat, think about it and do us, your true supporters, a favor and implent it!

This would be incredibly fun and useful for more than just the pros. Clans would have a much easier time hosting interclan events with spectator mode which helps their own community grow and flourish and keeps them playing your game longer

RNG had a great time doing livecasts with the spectator maps, but they are no longer working. Giving your community the flexiblity to make content for your game for free seems like it should have been a major priority from the get go.

Signed! I have a few friends who i would love to get into the game but without a way to coach them they have found the learning curve too high. Great blog Ami, hopefully someone has been listening and something like this is already underway

Couldn't this be used for cheating by those with multiple systems? just pop the laptop on and hop into observe mode while the you jam on desktop. It would give more information than a Fog of War hack.

Wouldn't it be abused?

Well it's just sad to see how Kolaris came up with a way to have (dodgy) observer mode in old coh, and Relic hasn't gotten this feature on it's COH2 game yet.

Relic always speak of unlimited resources (manpower, statistics, software and ideas) but they can't even get the basic design of their game right. Although that Peter Quimseh guy does seem to have some vision (a hope, a light in the darkness). The rest of the staff usually seem clueless what path to take.

COH franchise lost it's identity with the Men Of Warification: a market strategy deployed to try and get more sales. But it lost the true soul of the game. Best evidence:
No single (sub)top Coh player (BartonPL being the exception to the rule) plays the game. The reason to that is the core gameplay has been dumped down.

Anyways signed for APF's determination to try and make something real for the COH franchise. To get to the true potential this game got.

PS: I wonder what weather effects the Western Fronts will have (wind scattering artillery shells all over da place?)

It's easy to bypass => use a 4 minute delay between what happens and what the observer sees.

For live events with this delay could be left out for 'VIO's' (Very Important Observers)
which can be invited to custom games. Only the players can invite a VIO. The opposing player/team gets a message: 'Do you allow XXX as a VIO in this game'. => Agree or Decline

That way you can make sure there are no abusers of the system.

Outstanding post Ami and I certainly hope this is something that is implemented in our game.
