The angle in which the fuel plane comes into the map varies. It does always fly over the map from the side of the enemy, however with some maps, such as lanzereth ambush, triggering the drop in your allies section of the base on the far left (if you are on top), or the far right (if you are on top) will completely avoid all flak, as the plane spawns about half way down the side of the map due to the angle. The fuel can be dropped anywhere in yours or your allies base section, give it a try and see if there are any other ways to avoid the flak.

Yeah same experience, it comes with along with a host of other performance issues since the latest patch. No way to fix it apparently. |
Totally agree with Ace Of Swords…
More additions of pointless stuff, whilst the real problematic stuff is still "working as intended"… urgh. |
I've had this too, and some other things since last patch...
- more in game lag, both at the start, and periodically during the match.
- more crashes on a sync error.
- a number of random crashes, no lag, no droppers, game just literally closes instantly and bug splat appears. It feels a little like ending the process directly from task manager, its that instant.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Relics game engine really sucks. |
Mortar HT is a great hard counter, if you have a doctrine with it in.
Stuka is a hard counter as OKW, but relies on the fact you haven't yet chosen tech when you see the FHQ.
A good amount of mortars with MGs and Infantry to defend them, add an artillery officer to the mix for added effectiveness.
For later in the game (and just for trolling), ram tanks into the building to quickly take its health away.
Also, FYI, just shooting any normal weapons (rifles, MGs etc) at the building does take away health too. Its a very flimsy building for 60 fuel. |
Great thread.
The -nomovies command for the launch properties is awesome! Does this work for all games on steam…? Is there a database/list of commands for that section…? Just interested to know more about its capabilities…

I hope this doesn't come across as too controversial…
But, if I could ask Relic one question, it would be this -
Why did you not spend a decent chunk of pre-release development time fine tuning and getting the game engine in a good place?
What I mean by this is, CoH1 was great, but it was limited in core functionality, not being able to turn MGs in buildings, knock down big trees, wade through water with troops or tanks, etc etc. When I saw the trailers (and placed my order for CoH2), I thought, wow snow!! And the discussion of a new Engine with true sight etc, this is good, they've mentioned the engine, so they have probably put a ton of work into it. But we are still stuck in the stone age with the game engine. It does not run efficiently at all, not even close, it will crash even on top spec systems and doesn't support things like SLI or Crossfire which for a game released nowadays is quite disappointing. I also can't help but think, if further thought and development time had been put into the engine core itself, that may have actually helped in fixing bugs etc later down the line? Is that not a fair point..?
I love the series, and won't stop playing despite the hoard of current balance and performance issues. More has happened in the first year of CoH2 than ever in CoH1, so thats encouraging at least.
As I say, I hope this doesn't come across as too controversial... |
Good point Sigah..
Personally my favourite infantry commander is Jeager Infantry. Camo, G43s, and some Artillery. Personally, I'd like to swap one of the artillerys for tank smoke, but other than that I really like the commander, it gives a nice buff to the infantry. The camo first strike bonus almost always gives them a good edge or levels the field at the very least.

The problem is, there is so much conflicting information on this, its near impossible to tell, unless its a cost reduction bulletin. Hell, even Relic don't seem to be able to reliably answer the question.
The game shows multiple of the same bulletin in load out, but during the game the extra bulletins won't show, just 1 will show (if you have 3 identical ones), which leads me to think that they don't. But there are plenty of ones that do stack, because its obvious, as I say - cost reduction ones. |
The fact of the matter is, you should not be able to build it willy nilly in any building in any territory. It should only be build-able in connected territory, and once it becomes disconnected it should stop offering bonuses until it becomes connected again. That is well within the confines of how everything else works, and how it worked in CoH1. Its perfectly reasonable. I would go as far to say, that being able to decap it is not an unreasonable request either! |
